A report from Pat Hickey states that this offer has now been taken off the table by Montreal: a two-year deal for $8.8 million.
Fantasy Impact: Kovalev is replaced by the skilled but small Brian Gionta. He's on the open market and where he ends up will impact his production. He had the most chemistry with Andrei Kostitsyn and Tomas Plekanec. The former will bounce back, but as for the latter I'm not so sure…
