NHL Injury Report: the latest news on Corey Perry, John Gibson, David Krejci, Zdeno Chara and others

Viral illness is making its way through dressing rooms and the Columbus Blues Jackets continue to get hammered with injuries.  Here is the latest injury updates from around the NHL:

ANAHEIMCorey Perry and Francois Beauchemin (illness) are both out with a viral gland infection. Both are undergoing testing and waiting for results.

FLORIDADave Bolland (groin) has missed the last nine games with a groin injury, is expected to play on the upcoming West Coast road trip.

LOS ANGELESRobyn Regehr (undisclosed) is out with an unspecified injury and is day-to-day.

MINNESOTAJonas Brodin and Marco Scandella (illness) both have the same symptoms that sidelined teammates for 5-8 games. Those symptoms, according to Keith Ballard (missed eight games), are awful flu-like symptoms – achy, fever, zero energy and swollen glands in the neck area. No timeline.

MINNESOTAZach Parise (concussion) might play Thursday, according to head coach Mike Yeo.

NASHVILLEColin Wilson (lower body) is day-to-day with a lower body injury.

NASHVILLE  – Mike Fisher (Achilles) could return to the line-up in the next two weeks.

NEW JERSEYAdam Henrique (lower body) was unable to practice and missed fourth straight game on Tuesday.

NEW JERSEYRyane Clowe (head) was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday.

NEW JERSEY – Jon Merrill (arm) has been placed on injured reserve and there is no timetable for his return.

NEW YORKRyan McDonagh (shoulder) will be out 3-4 weeks due to a separated shoulder, according to head coach Alain Vigneault.

PHILADELPHIALuke Schenn (upper body) may be slightly ahead of two-week timeline from Saturday.

PITTSBURGHOlli Maatta (neck) skated with team and could return in 5-6 days.

SAN JOSEAlex Stalock (lower body) was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday. Stalock had minor surgery on his left knee, and although we can't say for sure how long he'll be off his skates, it more or less sounds like he'll be back relatively soon, probably in the two-to-four week range.

TAMPA BAYTyler Johnson (upper body) is out day to day with an upper body injury, and all things considered, that's a positive.

TAMPA BAY – Alex Killorn (upper body) is probable for Thursday's game according to head coach Jon Cooper.

TAMPA BAYVictor Hedman (hand) shed his cast and laced up his skates. But the Tampa Bay Lightning's top defenseman is no closer to returning to the lineup than originally expected. "He's still out weeks,'' Cooper said. "I'm not expecting him until early December.''

TORONTO Joffrey Lupul (hand) is still at least a week away. Had cast removed from broken hand.

VANCOUVERZack Kassian (leg) was sent home on Saturday for medical treatment. Kassian's knee absorbed the impact from Colorado Avalanche defenceman Nick Holden's hip check on Tuesday. Kassian finished the 5-2 win but hasn't played since.

VANCOUVERRadim Vrbata (leg) skated Wednesday and is getting close to returning.

WASHINGTON  – Brooks Laich (shoulder) is dealing with some excruciating pain in his shoulder.

WASHINGTON  – Tom Wilson (lower body) is almost back to 100% and could play Saturday.

WASHINGTON  – Dmitry Orlov (wrist) continues to recover from offseason wrist surgery, though the Capitals areunsure when he might return to practice. Since training camp, Orlov has worked out with strength coach Mark Nemish in the mornings and, during games, watched from the press box. "Still skating," head coach Barry Trotz said. "Still skating, day to day, many days, I don't know. It's a little bit all over the map a bit. But he's making progress. The injury that he did have to his wrist, the one area where he broke it, it doesn't get a lot of blood flow, so the healing process, that's probably the one injury where doctors will say it should be this, but it could be this and it's a little all over. I think he's making good progress."
