Between the Lines: Week 25

The hottest lines in fantasy hockey.

Lead us forwards…..

The Flames top line that I mentioned in last week’s piece should be here… however, I wanted to shed light on some others.

Gabriel Landeskog – Ryan O'Reilly – Alex Tanguay (Colorado)

The Avalanche had four games last week and two of those came against the lowly Sabres and Oilers. That favorable schedule led to many goals as Colorado scored 14 within that span. The line that reaped the most rewards is the one noted above as they combined for 19 points last week. There is no doubt that the Avalanche have an abundance of offensive weapons. However, this season has been really discouraging for them including the poolies who bought into their explosive season from last year. I wouldn’t expect this line production to continue as the Avalanche have a very rough upcoming schedule as their next three are on the road against tough teams.

Cam AtkinsonRyan JohansenBoone Jenner (Columbus)

I think anyone who has a fantasy hockey mind knows that the Blue Jackets are a great team to target next year in the draft. If it weren’t for all the injuries this year I really think they could have made some noise. The Blue Jackets are currently 9-1 in their last 10 games. With playoffs out of their sights, this statistic is kind of irrelevant. Nevertheless, this stat shows what they’re capable of when healthy. More importantly they’re scoring a crap load with 41 goals in their last 10 games. This line combined for 10 points last week in only 3 games and leading the way for them was Cam Atkinson, who had a hat trick versus the Blackhawks on Friday. According to Looking Ahead 2015: Week 25 the Blue Jackets have a favorable schedule down the stretch… so pickup any piece of this line if possible!

Jaromir JagrJonathan HuberdeauAleksander Barkov (Florida)

The guy still has it. The great Jaromir Jagr has come through huge for the Panthers down the stretch as they battle for that final wild card spot. Jagr has turned back the clock with five points in his last four games and a pivotal two goals in his last game versus the Sens. His presence and drive has really sparked the other two young studs on his line as Huberdeau and Barkov have combined for 11 points in their last four games. Enough can’t be said about Jagr… at his age he can still take over a game. More importantly, he really seems to work well with young blood and this could pay dividends for Barkov and Huberdeau in the long run. Don’t believe it? Jakub Voracek… enough said.

Jamie BennCody EakinTyler Seguin (Dallas)

It’s a real shame that the Stars won’t be in the post-season this year. Benn is one of my favorite players to watch and he’s produced yet another solid season. This line combined for 13 points last week in four games. The Stars should really focus on finding a third piece for the deadly Benn-Seguin combo. Eakin isn’t quite at their level and a solid third piece could make for a dominant line.
