You have one last day to bet on any team you want to before the playoffs. Who should you go with?

It feels like the season has blown by. Today marks the final day of the NHL regular season. Many teams will be resting their star players and others will be looking to finish strong for playoff positioning. I hope to finish with a bang today in order to push my winning percentage up to 65%. Enjoy the final day of the regular season as we #GETTHATMONEY.

Record: 42 – 24

Ottawa @ Philadelphia (1230pm ET)

The Ottawa Senators are so close that they can almost taste it. With one point, the Ottawa Senators can guarantee themselves a birth in the post-season. A Boston loss would also send Ottawa to the playoffs, however, you can bet the Sens will try to punch their own ticket come this afternoon against the Flyers. Andrew Hammond continues to be godly, as he has only one regulation loss in his last 23 games. The Senators head into Philly for a matinee matchup with the Flyers, who really have nothing to play for. The last three matchups between these two have gone to a shootout. The Flyers are a different animal at home, as they are an impressive 23-10-7 at the Fargo Center. But I like the Senators here as they have much more to play for and I can’t bet against the Hamburgler. Take the Sens.

Key Stat: Senators are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. Metropolitan.

Pick: Ottawa- Visitor Team Win – V

Minnesota @ St. Louis (3pm ET)

The Blues will push for a win in this one, as they have a shot at the top seed in the Western Conference. The Blues take on a Wild squad that has strung together two impressive wins on the road versus the Blackhawks and Predators. This game is full of uncertainty, as it’s unclear who will be rested or not rested for this one. The Wild could actually still catch the Blackhawks with a win and a Chicago regulation loss. This could be very good for the Wild as that would match them up with the Predators, who have been abysmal as of late. I like the Blues regardless of who’s playing in this one. They seem to have their mojo back, winning four of their last five games. They are also at home, where they will want to end off with a win. Take the Blues.

Key Stat: Wild are 3-10 in the last 13 meetings.

Pick: St. Louis – Home Team Win – H

Montreal @ Toronto (7pm ET)

Is there any reason why I should take the Maple Laughs in this one? I could write a paragraph and analyze this game, but for what? The Leafs stink. Hopefully Colton Orr can provide some much-needed offense for the Laughs in this one… The Habs could use a win to clinch first in the Atlantic Division and Carey Price is slated to start. Take the Habs and don’t think twice.

Key Stat: Montreal are 6-2 in the last 8 meetings in Toronto.

Pick: Montreal – Visitor Team Win – V

Nashville @ Dallas (8pm ET)

Boy oh boy, has Jamie Benn been on fire with nine points in his last three games. Subsequently, the Stars have won three straight as they take on a depressed Predators squad. Nashville has lost five straight and star netminder Pekka Rinne has looked rather average, allowing 21 goals over the aforementioned losing streak. This isn’t the greatest spot for Rinne and the Predators, as the Stars can fill the net in a hurry. Benn should light the lamp in this one and lead the Stars to a win against a slumping Predators squad. Take the Stars.

Key Stat: Predators are 8-21 in the last 29 meetings in Dallas.

Pick: Dallas – Home Team Win – H

Anaheim @ Arizona (9pm ET)

Anaheim will be looking to lock up the top seed in the Western Conference as they take on the lowly Coyotes. All is not bad for the Yotes as they are currently in prime position in the Connor McDavid race. Arizona lost their last game in ugly fashion, falling 5-0 to the Canucks on Thursday. To be honest, if there’s one team that looks like they’re tanking for McDavid.. it’s probably the Yotes. They’ve looked atrocious as of late as they are 3-7 in their last 10 games. The Ducks shouldn’t have a problem in this one, especially since they want to lock up that top seed in the Western Conference.

Key Stat: Ducks are 7-2 in the last 9 meetings.

Pick: Anaheim – Visitor Team Win – V

Boston @ Tampa Bay (730pm ET)

I like the Bolts here even if the Senators happen to fall this afternoon. The Bruins just don’t look the same anymore. Tuukka Rask has not played like we all know he can, and the loss of Johnny Boychuk may have been a bigger blow than we had imagined. Nonetheless, the Bruins are 5-3-2 in their last 10 games, having dropped their last two games including their most recent game versus the Panthers. The Bolts are on a two-game winning streak and come into this matchup with a league-leading 31 wins at home. Take the Bolts here, as the Bruins had their chances and blew it.

Key Stat: Home team is 35-16-2 in the last 53 meetings.

Pick: Tampa Bay – Home Team Win – H
