JamieBenn1Who are the recommended one-day plays on the final day of the regular season?

Top Budget Plays

Centers

Vladislav Namestnikov $2,900 –Values are not where they were on Thursday night and neither may the point potential, but Namestikov is a modest gamble for those looking to save a little money. If it looks like Montreal is going to run away with it against Toronto, so do not be surprised to see Namestnikov get a few more minutes than usual. The more time means the more chances. He does have six points in his last ten games for what it is worth.

Wingers

Reid Boucher $2,700 –With lots of value risks across the board, Boucher plays any kind of decent minutes, he will hit value. Typically he fires a shot on goal one every 4-5 minutes. If he gets something close to top 6 or top 9 minutes, he will take about three or four shots. The young winger has scoring potential, but the role he has been given just does not seem to quite fit. With nothing to play for, Boucher may just be given the green light and then maybe we will see what he flashed for the Sarnia Sting in the OHL.

Defensemen

Yannick Weber $3,000– There really could be more time in the lineup for a guy like Weber who has been putting pucks in the net of late. He has five goals in his last ten games, including two versus Arizona. That may not say much, but the more ice time he gets lately, the more his confidence rises. Edmonton comes into town with absolutely nothing to play for and Weber figures to benefit considering the Oilers gave up 52 shots their last time out against San Jose.

Goalie

Cory Schneider $6,700 –At press time, it was not known if Roberto Luongo would start for the Florida Panthers, so we gave Schneider a whirl. Both are oddly at the same price, by the way, and that ridiculously cheap. The numbers have not been very pretty for the New Jersey goalie over the last 5-10 games, but that really is none of his fault. The team in front of him basically quits for long stretches and gets in its own way more often than not. When your margin of error is almost zero most nights, it makes your job a little difficult. He if a risky GPP play along with Luongo, as no one knows what could happen in this game.

Since we saved some money on the budget plays let's look at the few of the pricey options that are worth paying up for today.

Centers

Tyler Seguin $8,600–You have to feel good with Seguin and Benn basically trying to get the left winger the Art Ross Trophy. There is nothing wrong with that, and it benefits the duo. Playing Nashville at home may not be a bad thing because the Predators are struggling mightily and these are the type of games where goals seem to come in bunches. That is the going theory, anyway. Seguin is in the top ten in scoring despite missing several weeks, so basically he is a must start.

Wingers

Jamie Benn $8,600 –This is a scoring race that will know no bounds. By far and away, Benn has been on fire. He has a whopping 17 points and seven power play points in his last ten games. Furthermore, eight goals in nine contests is just a crazy number this time of year. Again, Nashville is not as stout as they normally have been in the last month or so. Basically, if you want to run a Seguin-Benn stack, no one will blame you in the least right now at all.

Defensemen

P.K. Subban $8,400 –Oh lord, I have sinned! Actually, the only reason why Erik Karlsson is not a play here is because he is on the early slate against Philadelphia. Subban against Toronto or any top defenseman against the Maple Leafs should almost be gold here. This is where at least Montreal still has the division to win. He has averaged over three shots a game in the last few weeks with eight points and four power play points. It will be an intriguing game to see how many points Subban can get.

Goalie

Carey Price $8,900 –The fact that this is a rivalry game will scare some off but we are undaunted. If you have the money to spend, Price is actually about $500-$700 less than he was at his high point. That will at least make him a bit affordable to stomach. Part of that is the fact that he has looked a little human of late. Toronto might be the perfect cure for what is ailing him, since they have zero to play for like most teams. It could just be a risk worth taking in cash or even GPP's on Saturday night.
