The best bargains for Daily Fantasy Hockey this Saturday, March 14, 2015.

Top Budget Plays

Centers

Vladimir Namestnikov $2,800 –Yes this can be considered a high risk reach but Namestnikov scored in his last game and basically everyone is waiting for the night he is paired with Nikita Kucherov on a regular basis. That could possibly come soon. The center has two goals in his last four games and looks more and more comfortable playing with the big boys so to speak. He will not have much, if any, power play value but at the very least he will help Tampa pick up the pace.

Wingers

Since we saved some money on the budget plays let's look at the few of the pricey options that are worth paying up for today.

Centers

John Tavares $9,100–Sometimes playing the safe play works and in this case it does not hurt that the Canadiens and Islanders often tend to score goals against each other (last meeting was 6-4 by the way). This game could feature teams that are just eager to get on the gas pedal early and often. Tavares playing with Kyle Okposo can never hurt and watch out for that Islanders power play once it really gets going. This could be an all or nothing play but our next pick may convince you otherwise.

Wingers

Max Pacioretty $8,400 –You have to think with Pacioretty, he is going to get in the range of 4-5 points for daily a night and that is just fine. He has been remarkably consistent of late actually topping out near five points a night over the last ten games. People in daily fantasy love bottom line production. Pacioretty had nine DraftKings points the other night against Ottawa and was narrowly deprived of a hat trick by inches several times. The Long Island native always seems to do well against the Islanders and this might be his last trip to the old "Mausoleum".

Defensemen

Justin Faulk $5,600 –This is where I try to spend and DraftKings still saves me some money anyway. Why not at this point right? Faulk has been on a roll lately and they welcome Dan Ellis into Carolina with open arms Yes, the Carolina offense has been wildly hot or miss lately but Faulk has not been for the most part. If you can get a multi-point night from the defenseman while yes not going overboard for Kris Russell or Dennis Wideman, that is always a good thing. Remember to spend carefully and you do not always have to plunk dollars down just to get close to the salary cap of $50,000.

Goalie

McKenzie Skapski $6,400 –The price is cheap sadly but it is Buffalo and that may mean less points but Skapski has beaten Buffalo once before in the land of blue and yellow. Yes the point was to go more expensive but there are so many landmines among the expensive players that the safer play was actually among the cheapest. Sometimes it never hurts to admit defeat and go with someone who might just work out given his low dollar amount. Ride the wave of risk and roll the bones!
