Steve Zipay is reporting in his blog Blue Notes that restricted free agent Nik Zherdev is being wooed by several KHL teams. Be forewarned Zherdev owners.

The bad news is…there's no hockey for two days in a row…

With Boston shockingly out of the postseason, here are some tidbits we can take from their players…
– Michael Ryder 13 points in 11 games? Where did that come from? Was he taken in the first five rounds of any playoff pool?
– Phil Kessel is still a playoff stud.
– As expected, Milan Lucic was a warrior with nine points in 10 games and a team high plus-12 (and a team high 43 PIM)
– With Blake Wheeler disappearing down the stretch and in the postseason, is it fair to expect 50 points from him next campaign?
– Tim Thomas, even though he didn't take Boston to the show, is a stud. His 1.85 GAA and .935 SP were stellar. Boston just ran into a hot team.

With Anaheim out, here are some tidbits to chew on for next season…
– Jonas Hiller will play at least as many games as JSG next campaign. The reason I'm so conservative is that I remember the Ilya Bryzgalov situation. Hiller's .943 SP was impressive.
– How does Ryan Getzlaf get even better? And he's not even in his prime yet! See my recent article in the Hockey News for my take on Getzlaf .
– With Getzlaf still on the rise, Corey Perry will get 40 goals next year.
– Scott Niedermayer won't retire after getting 10 points in 13 games. How can retire after playing at such a high level?
– Bobby Ryan isn't quite ready to be that star just yet. Flashes of brilliance, but occasional cold spells. No longer think '70 points' for him next year. Think more like 60.
– With Pronger and Nieds both in the lineup, Ryan Whitney is a 40-point defenseman.
– Ryan Carter had five points to Andrew Ebbett's three and he played fewer games. I'm not saying he's the better dark horse for next  year…I'm just saying is all…

The Caps signed 21st overall pick from last year Anton Gustafsson to an entry-level deal. He ranks 107 on my Fantasy Prospects List and is profiled extensively in the Fantasy Prospects Report out June 1!

The Canucks extended Steve Bernier for two years. He still has a lot of untapped upside, but we won't really see it for three years – he's still only 24. In the meantime, look at 35-55 points a season.

Niclas Havelid has signed to play in the SEL next season.

Carolina prospect Jakub Petruzalek has decided to take his game to Finland next year, even as he watches his parent club go to the Final Four.

Geoff Platt will remain in Europe, this time it will be in the KHL. He signed with Dinamo Minsk.

Disgusting! Joel Stein, the Time magazine columnist has been given one last chance to prove that hockey is a relevant sport or he will be banned by his editor from ever writing about it again. Click here to vote NO on whether he should be banned from writing about hockey.

Atlanta is working feverishly to re-sign Kovalchuk. He will absolutely not be traded this year, according to Thrashers' brass.
