Happy Birthday Wayne! My favorite hockey player of all time. Fifty – makes me feel old. I was around 10 when he was pumping home 200-point seasons.

The Guardian Project is updated with the Panther and the Senator.

From philly.com: The Flyers are 22-4-2 with Carcillo in the lineup and just 11-8-3 without him.

Here’s a nice rundown of how TV ratings are up this season.

Three points for Mats Zuccarello and Torts is loving him more and more with every game. He had gone the prior three without a point, but his razzle dazzle always seems to pose a threat offensively. He is still clicking on a line with Wolski and Stepan, but saw time with Gaborik as well.

Michael Del Zotto’s four shots on goal had to impress the coach. But his minus-2 probably did not.

Shawn Matthias has points (and has been plus-1) in each of his last three contests.

Another stellar game for Kevin Poulin, who is taking advantage of the suspension to Evgeni Nabokov and showing the Isles that he’s NHL ready. He stopped 30 of 31 shots, but took the loss because the offense just wasn’t there.

Dustin Jeffrey assisted on the lone Pittsburgh goal, giving him points in two consecutive games. He has four in seven on the season, despite averaging 10-11 minutes per contest. And he’s not ready?

David Desharnais has points in three of his last four games now, five points in 11 games on the year. The Habs are liking the mini-forward more and more, as he’s seen 14-16 minutes of ice time in four straight games now. His five shots led the team.

With four assists last night, give Chris Pronger six in the four games since his return. PP time was split fairly evenly between he, Carle, Timonen and Meszaros.

Sabres prospect forward – another mini-player on the team – Paul Byron picked up his first career NHL goal. He now has two points in two career games, really making his mark and telling brass not to forget about him – Luke Adam isn’t the only NHL ready player. He had 99 points in his final QMJHL season in 2009. For him to become a part of this team next year, however, something has to give. Can you see him at 5-9 making a team that already has Derek Roy, Nate Gerbe and Tyler Ennis?

Speaking of Ennis, give him nine points in his last six games.

Looking to turn things around, the Leafs finally caved and threw James Reimer back in there. He stopped 29 of 31 shots, but took the loss.

I’ve noticed Teddy Purcell heating up – five points in his last two games.

Simon Gagne, too. Six in his last eight. Not up to par yet, but showing signs?

Another shutout for Roloson. That’s three in a TB uniform, to go with one goal allowed in two games. He’s played 10 games for them so far – that makes half of them allowing one goal or less. His career high is 28 wins. He has 13 right now. He’ll set his career high this year in Tampa – by March 25.

Keith Yandle is still racing up the scoring charts – eight games in a row now for him.

Marian Hossa missed Tuesday’s game with an illness.

Jamie Benn will miss the next game with an undisclosed injury suffered Monday.

Price – beauty (and lucky) save on Richards – best angle at the end:

Tyrell – into the Leafs bench!

Konopka vs. Asham:
