Bill Guerin has been traded to the San Jose Sharks for a first round pick, Ville Nieminen and a non-roster player. (Jay Barriball)
Sharks – add a power forward that they thought they already added this past summer with Mark Bell. Now they have an experienced man to play alongside Joe Thornton and Jonathan Cheechoo. Expect that line to be reunited.
Blues – add another first round pick – what a draft they are going to have this summer! Nieminen is a solid checker for the third or fourth line. Barriball is outscoring Kyle Okposo on the U. Minnesota hockey team with just over a point per game.
Fantasy Players Impacted: The party is over for Ryane Clowe. He will be off the Thornton line. Marleau likely will be off the line as well. Expect Thornton/Cheechoo/Guerin followed by Clowe/Marleau/Michalek, which pushes Pavelski to the third line with Mark Bell and Steve Bernier. David Backes will also get a TON of ice time for the Blues now, with Guerin and Tkachuk both gone.
