The Kings have signed their fourth overall pick from this summer Thomas Hickey to a three-year entry level deal. He will not be on the pro roster this year.

The Caps have re-signed Steve Eminger and Brian Sutherby to contracts. 

New York has traded Matt Cullen back to Carolina for Andrew Hutchinson, prospect Joe Barnes, and a 3rd rounder in 2008.  Another salary dump.  Perhaps the Rangers are going to try and fit Mike Peca under the cap? 

The Ottawa Senators have dealt Peter Schaefer to Boston for Shean Donovan.  It was reported that Schaefer had asked for a trade multiple times during the season.  This is an obvious salary dump for the Senators, as Donovan makes $1.2 million less, and he is a UFA after this season. 

The Wild signed Matt Foy, Joel Ward and Aaron Voros to contracts. It is unknown if they are one or two-way deals, but I am curious about Foy, as I think he'll make the team this year finally. 

The Red Wings signed depth defensemen Carl Corrazzini and Garrett Stafford yesterday. Both may see a handful of games this season, but all this really does is take ice time and opportunity from the likes of Kyle Quincey, who may no longer be the first recall when injury strikes.

Apparently, Roenick has not said that he will retire and he is not talking about it to the media because his father-in-law recently passed away (July 10) and the death was unexpected. Roenick is waiting, and rightfully so, for things to settle down with his family before addressing the issue. 

Junior Lessard signed a two-way deal with the Stars. I have already removed him from the prospects list because he'll never be fantasy worthy.

Chris Campoli signed a three-year deal with the Islanders. He'll finally play the full season in the NHL this year.

The Devils have signed Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre, bringing the rearguard back from Germany. He will be a depth defenseman in the system, however.

Ritchie Regehr has signed to play in Germany next season, believing that he would be on the outside looking in once again in Calgary.

The Panthers didn't waste any time getting Michal Repik to put pen to paper. They signed him to a contract, although he is still years away.

The Panthers signed Kamil Kreps and Rob Globke to their qualifying offers yesterday, believed to be two-way deals. Both players are just off my prospects top 200.

The Preds signed Zanon, Klein and Hordichuk to contracts and now only have Vern Fiddler left to sign with another $2 million to go before they reach the NHL salary floor. Klein's, by the way, was a two-way deal.

Phoenix signed Matt Jones to a one-year deal.

The Sharks signed Rob Davison to a one-year, one-way deal yesterday. He is of little fantasy significance.
