Petr Kalus has made an impact in the Wild's development camp. If I were a betting man, I would say he is a lock to make the team this year.
Jamie Lundmark has signed with Moscow Dynamo of the RSL. Every time he seemed to get going over the last two seasons he would be interrupted by the end of the season, or an injury, or someone returning to the lineup.
The Sharks have signed Alexei Semenov. Expect the big rearguard to make the team full time and get 70 or 80 PIM's. His arrival will hurt Ty Wishart's chances of making the squad.
The 'Canes signed Michael Leighton as their depth goaltender. You likely won't see him in the NHL this season.
The Caps avoided arbitration by putting pen to paper with Milan Jurcina. He is a minute muncher and a blossoming defenseman, but will not put up the points.
The 'Hawks signed a slew of depth players – Wade Flaherty (as a No.5 goalie behind Crawford, Munro, Lalime and the 'Bulin Wall), Jim Fahey and Prestin Ryan.
