Any FANTASY HOCKEY GUIDES that are ordered will be emailed at 7am EST Thursday.

Bought the Pool Guide? Here is a one-page supplemental sheet .

TSN is reporting that both Scott Upshall and Joffrey Lupul have broken wrists. Upshall could be gone until December, Lupul may not be quite that serious. Details to come…

Rostislav Olesz left yesterday's game after jamming his hand into the boards awkwardly. The injury is not serious…but they always say that, so I will be watching this for sure.

Alexander Radulov has just one assist in the preseason and is admittedly in not as good shape as he was a year ago. He did not train as hard this past summer. It may take him a little while to find his stride this year.

Kris Letang has had his ups and downs in the preseason and a roster spot is by no means guaranteed. Keep an eye on this situation.

Michel Ouellet, who is battling a sore hamstring, will be back in the TB lineup against Detroit on Thursday.

Add Patrik Elias to the list of NHLers troubled by a sore groin. He is day to day.

Dustin Boyd has slowly watched his ice time get cut back. He will either be cut soon or he will make the team as a fourth-liner. Unless a top center is injured, it would be best for him to play one more year in the AHL.

By all accounts, Tomas Fleischmann had a great game yesterday, picking up an assist for the Caps. The goal was scored by Mike Green, who is looking like a lock to make the team.

Suddenly, Steve Eminger is no longer guaranteed a spot in the lineup. with Poti, Pothier, Jurcina, Morrisson and Green… Eminger will be battling Boumedienne, Erskine, and Schultz for three other spots.

Buffalo color man Jim Lorentz retired yesterday. Matthew Barnaby will work a game with Rick Jeaneret – a favorite of yours truly – on the radio. Just found it interesting that Barnaby is giving radio a shot.

It would seem that Brent Sopel has made the Red Wings, given that the team cut Jakub Kindl and Jassen Cullimore yesterday. If he can stay healthy, he should be good for 35 points and 70-plus PIM's in your roto league, with an excellent plus/minus given that he plays with Lidstrom.

The 'Nucks cut Jozef Balej, who will have to clear waivers to go to Manitoba.

It turns out that Kevin Weekes did indeed suffer a concussion the other day when his Devils played the Rangers and he could be out for several weeks. Given that Brodeur is fine shouldering the load anyway, this shouldn't impact your fantasy squad.

Reports out of Los Angeles indicate that Bobby Ryan will begin the season with the Ducks.

Ottawa's Dean McAmmond suffered a serious concussion in last night's contest against the Flyers. Steve Downie gave him a brutal hit from behind. The notorious youngster is already developing a bad rep in the NHL.

Bob Gainey is now saying that Price could stick with the Habs and get enough work in as the backup to Huet. Stay tuned. Halak's job is in jeopardy. I still see Price in the AHL, but we'll see.

Milan Hejduk is still out with his groin injury. He did not play last night and is questionable even to open the season. This is just the opportunity that TJ Hensick needs to make the NHL this year.

Jose Theodore will likely start Colorado's last preseason game this weekend. He has been recovering from knee surgery.

The Flyers have cut Ryan Parent, and expect to further pare down their defense corps soon. They say that Parent will see significant time in both the AHL and the NHL this year.

Claude Giroux was having an absolutely outstanding camp for the Flyers. However, the team elected to send him back to junior. For awhile there, it looked as if he would be forcing them into a "Jordan Staal" decision, in which he played so well they would have to give him an audition in the regular season. He will be a star in the NHL and should crack the lineup in a year.

Sidney Crosby's groin is still sore, but improving. He is not yet sticking in practice throughout.

Tampa Bay prospect Luca Cunti will come over to North America and play in the NCAA this year for St. Cloud State.

For my take on the St. Louis cuts , check out yesterday's column . Both Bacashihua and Woywitka will need to clear waivers. Coach Andy Murray says that Riksman has been their best goalie…but will be best served in Peoria.

Here we go again – the Sharks are trying Marleau on the left wing on the top line. Ron Wilson is going to play this game off and on all season long. Do not expect any one winger to stick with Cheechoo and Thornton.

Boston defenseman (hopeful) Matt Lashoff is out with whiplash. He will miss the next several days.

Not to seem cold, but from a business and hockey perspective the death of Chicago owner Bill Wirtz will move the Blackhawks back into relevancy  in Chicago, as I am sure it will (eventually) lead to airing home games on television again. An entire generation of fans have been lost though, as they had simply turned to something else.

Cuts of note from Monday night/Tuesday morning:

Berglund, Woywita, Bacashihua, Riksman, St. Louis

Rask, Karsums, Boston

Kaleta, Hunter, Buffalo

Cullimore, Kindl, Detroit

Kasparaitus (cleared waivers), NY Rangers

Balej (waived), Schneider, Simek, Vancouver

Parent, Giroux Philadelphia
