Jonathan Bernier has been sent to Lewiston of the QMJHL. J-S Aubin has been activated off the injured reserve and will get a shot at the No.1 job for the Kings.

A couple of quick notes. First, it slipped past me that Marc-Andre Bergeron was a healthy scratch on Saturday. Nolan still loves him, it was just that he made a couple of costly mistakes on Thursday. Lesson learned I'm sure, and my thoughts on him remain unchanged. Second, I dropped Roman Hamrlik in the Expert League. I did this because I wanted Steven Wagner on my team. Who's that, you ask? A dynamite St.Louis rookie who is really stepping up while EJ is on the shelf.

Rookie Torrey Mitchell replaced RW Jonathan Cheechoo on a line with C Joe Thornton and LW Ryane Clowe at Sunday's practice. Cheechoo took Mitchell's spot on a line with C Joe Pavelski and RW Mike Grier and both combinations are expected to face the Canucks.

Todd Bertuzzi left last night's contest with what was believed to be a concussion. He was hit by Derek Boogaard.

Jonathan Bernier has a 5.54 GAA in his last two outings and a .817 SV%. Jason LaBarbera has not been much better though.

Ben Eager left the game on Saturday after taking a hard hit into the boards. He may have sustained a concussion.

It looks as if the Coyotes will be moving a defenseman within the next month or so. I suspect that it will be Derek Morris, but if the Rangers get involved and they up the ante enough it could very well be Ed Jovanovski.

Kris Draper scored in his fourth straight game last night.

Mikael Samuelsson missed last night's contest because of a sore groin. Tomas Kopecky was moved up to the second line in his place. Kopecky saw nearly 12 minutes, but zero power play. He was not in on the scoring, but will remain on that line until Samuelsson returns. Samuelsson is expected to be out until at least Thursday.

Derrick Brassard is among the top AHL scorers with seven points in his first four games. Given that Freddie Modin was the No.1 center for Columbus on Saturda – and was 42% at the faceoff circle – do not be surprised if you see him very soon. In fact, it looks so promising that you may want to grab him off waivers, plunk him on your bench, and wait a week or two to see if he does get the recall.

David Krejci is playing with Phil Kessel and Milan Lucic on the third line.

Carolina rearguard Denis Seidenberg has a mild sprained MCL in his knee and has been replaced in the lineup by David Tanabe.

Roman Voloshenko has left the Minnesota Wild's farm team in Houston to go back to Russia. The team warned him that he will likely have trouble getting into the NHL ever if he were to do that, but he left anyway. Needless to say, he should no longer be considered a decent prospect.

James Sheppard played just 5:55 in last night's contest.

In his eighth NHL start last night, Josh Harding picked up his third shutout. He and Backstrom are both solid goaltenders, but this stat has to tell you that the team itself will make their numbers even better – the Wild know how to shut'em down.

In his first start of the season, JS Giguere kicked aside 23 of 25 shots.

Under the radar: St.Louis rookie defenseman Steven Wagner has three points in his last three games. He has offensive talent and has been getting decent PP time, especially during EJ's absence.

The shift charts are still not back on NHL.com. Let's keep the emails rolling! I can give you a lot more information in my daily ramblings if the shift charts were back – and you can find out a lot of info yourself.  Visit this page and then click "contact us" at the bottom. Tell them that you need the shift charts back and why. Already, dozens of readers have done this, but we need all the help we can get. LINK
