According to the Palm Beach Post, Cory Murphy left last night's contest with an undetermined shoulder injury. His status will be updated today. 

A decision will be made later today whether Langenbrunner will return to the New Jersey lineup for the first time this season. He has been practicing on the same line that he clicked on last season – with Parise and Zajac. His return will help the slumping Elias, who will get another shot at clicking with Zubrus and Gionta. The line will do better because the second line would be such a force.

Bryan Berard expects to be back in the Islanders lineup Thursday. Now is the time to reserve Bergeron.

Mike Fisher is performing so well on the top line that he will remain there even when Spezza comes back. He has seven points in the six games that Spezza has missed.

Martin Gerber will get the start tomorrow for the Sens. 

Erik Cole has slight back pain but traveled with his teammates to Tampa Bay for tonight's game. He'll be a game time decision.

Scoring is down to 5.5 goals per game in the NHL, from 5.9 at the same point last year and 6.2 the year before. That's 175 fewer goals from two years ago.

Alexander Semin skated on his own yesterday. There is no timetable yet for his return.

Chris Clark will be back in the lineup for tomorrow's contest. 

Bill Guerin has bleeding in one of his eyes and is questionable for tomorrow's game against the Pens. 

Daymond Langkow did indeed play for the Flames last night, even picking up an assist.

Tom Priessing missed just one game as a healthy scratch and then returned to the lineup to score his first goal of the season. He played under 14 minutes, but over five minutes were on the PP. That being said, I can't see the Kings holding Jack Johnson to under two PP minutes very often, so Priessing's value remains low in my eyes.

The Coyotes' Nick Boynton was suspended for one game for fighting within the last five minutes of a game. As a result, the team was forced to place Josh Gratton on waivers to make room for Brenden Bell, whom they have recalled.

Tyler Kennedy was assigned to Wilkes-Barre yesterday by the Penguins. Kris Letang has been recalled. The team would like to shake up the offense and are hoping that Letang could contribute to that. He may see time on the top PP unit, pushing Whitney back in an effort to stimulate what has been a useless second power-play unit. 

Shea Weber is targeting Saturday to return to the lineup from his dislocated kneecap.

Mikael Samuelsson missed last night's game because his wife gave birth to a baby girl.

Mike Peca will not be in the Jackets lineup tonight because of his groin injury. He is still day to day, but he is not skating at all.

Shocker: Gaborik sat out of yesterday's contest with his groin injury. Hmmm…

Sheldon Souray is shooting for a return on Thursday, but Saturday is a more likely scenario. Meanwhile, Dick Tarnstrom has been eating all the ice time of late, playing over 27 minutes in each of the last two contests and has three points.

Interesting stat reported by the Rocky Mountain News: Paul Stastny has 20 points in 10 home games, but two points in seven road games. Wow.

The LA Times is reporting that Teemu Selanne has not been on the ice this season and that he is "happy" and "content". His wife is also going to have a baby. Sounds as if we won't be seeing him in the NHL again.

It is likely that Chris Pronger will be suspended for a game for starting a fight in overtime.

David Koci practiced without a face shield yesterday, but is still a good week away from a return. He is a fighter coming back from a broken nose.

Martin Havlat hopes to return within two weeks, as he is accompanying the team on their road trip.

Patrick Lalime will get the start tonight. He has been impressive so far, going 4-1-0, .914 and 2.32. Against Columbus? You should activate him.

Alexander Frolov has six points in his last two games – when this guy gets rolling, you need to get all over it. I point out a lot of streaky players to you, but Frolov is the King. Literally, I guess, given that he plays for LA.

Despite straining his elbow Monday, Milan Michalek still hopes to be in the lineup tonight against Dallas.

Rookie David Perron played 12:48 last night – 3:58 on the PP – and scored two goals. Defenseman Steve Wagner recorded his second consecutive two-point night and logged more PP minutes than EJ, who also had a two-point night.

Raffi Torres has gone seven games without a point despite 33 shots. He is also a minus-5 in that span.

Roman Hamrlik is pointless in five games.

Darryl Sydor is not impressing in Pittsburgh. He is pointless in his last 14 games and is a minus-7.

Brad Boyes is pointless in four contests and is a minus-3.
 

The Panthers picked up Garth Murray off of waivers. This has no fantasy significance.

The Stars have decided to go with a duo as their GM. Brett Hull will be interim co-GM with Les Jackson, who was formerly the assistant GM under Doug Armstrong. The move is obviously to give Hull some training, grooming him for the role in a later year.
