DobberHockey's Russ Miller (aka 'The Comish') made an interesting find – Steve Downie's suspension is over in the AHL, however in the NHL he still has three games to serve. The Flyers have been recalling him and sending him down all season, eating away at the suspension, but only recalled him for 17 of their 20 games so far. As such, he is eligible to play in the NHL on November 28 – thus missing a November 24 match against the Senators. As the Comish says – "sweeping under the rug" by the NHL. Patrick Eaves is out indefinitely with his shoulder injury. The Sens recalled Alexander Nikulin, who ranks 126 on my fantasy prospects list. He has 10 points in 14 AHL games this season, which is second on Binghamton. It will be interesting to see what his role is. 

Josh Harding is injured – with what, we don't officially know. But when I watched the game last night a Canuck was driven into him, hitting his mask with a leg. His head slingshotted back into the post. He played the rest of the game, unbelievably. But I'm guessing it's related. 

The Wild have claimed Todd Fedoruk on re-entry waivers. This is of no fantasy significance.

Dany Sabourin will get the start for the Pens tonight. 

Some fringe goalie news – David Aebischer has signed to play in Switzerland this year. Jamie McClennan has signed to play in Japan. 

The Caps brass must have read my ramblings this morning. Glen Hanlon has been fired – get all the Caps you can – the scoring is about to begin. 

Michal Roszival missed yesterday's contest with a knee injury. He is day to day.

Sean Avery left last night's game with a wrist injury. X-rays showed that it was not broken, but if it is a sprain he may miss a bit of time. Stay tuned. 

Erik Cole (strained neck) has been cleared to practice.

Arnott will be back in the lineup Thursday.

Steve Sullivan update: he's still waking up with pain, but it has been improving. Sully says that for eight months he has never seen improvement, but now he is. He won't be skating in the next couple of weeks, but he says he won't be out for three months or anything like that. 

Patrick Eaves left last night's game reportedly with a separated shoulder. 

I really believe Glen Hanlon will be fired soon. The Caps are a much better team than this. It may be wise to go after some Caps players right now, because when the coaching change happens you will see Ovechkin do his Kovalchuk impression and go all nutty. His linemates will go right along with him, as will the second line.

Ed Jovanovski has 12 points in his last 11 contests. Get him while he's healthy. 

The fact that the Sharks gave Matt Carle $13.75 million over four years is an indication that no matter how poorly he plays over the next few seasons, they will keep throwing him out there. He will be given more chances to succeed than he normally would, which is a good sign for Carle owners.

Mark Recchi was a healthy scratch again, as Colby Armstrong got back into the lineup.

The Penguins are 2-1 this season in second games when playing on consecutive nights. They play Ottawa tonight. 

In his last 11 games, Cam Ward is 5-5 and has watched his GAA balloon from 1.85 to 2.62, while his SV% has dipped from .937 to .910.

Manny Fernandez is now suffering from back spasms. He left practice early yesterday because of them.

Claude Julien is beginning to lose patience with Brandon Bochenski's lack of offense. He has just two points in nine games after making a huge impact upon joining the team late last season.

Colorado will scratch Jaroslav Hlinka tonight.

The Columbus Dispatch is reporting that Derick Brassard will return to the Syracuse lineup (broken jaw) before Christmas.

Tim Connolly returned to the Buffalo lineup and played 13:47. He did not get Afinogenov going, but I feel his presence on the second line helped continued Thomas Vanek and Derek Roy's momentum that they started last game. Vanek picked up another two points and so did Roy. Those people who were diving off the Vanek bandwagon last week can now brush the dirt off their knees and try to climb back on now.

Teppo Numminen is skating on his own now, but is still contemplating retirement. 

Bertuzzi and Schneider were back in the lineup last night. Bertuzzi played 13:12 and 3:52 on the power play. Schneider played 20:19 and 7:25 on the PP. As a result, Beauchemin played under two minutes on the PP. 

If you haven't been paying any attention to me, or you just discovered DobberHockey this morning: grab Tobias Enstrom now. He is Don Waddell's baby. I warned you of this in the Pool Guide. The Atlanta defenseman began the year with two points in eight games but was still logging over 20 minutes. Now he's logging 23-27 minutes and has 11 points in his last 13 games. He picked up another three last night. He'll be a 50-point rearguard this season.

Ilya Kovalchuk has 27 points in his last 12 games. That's just insane.

Marian Hossa has a six-game point streak. In fact, he has gone six straight games with at least two points.

Jason Williams will miss tonight's contest for the Blackhawks.

David Koci will be back in the lineup.

Kris Versteeg will make his NHL debut tonight. The 21-year-old has been a point a game player in the AHL. He is a smallish player who has not cracked my top 200 fantasy prospects. Savard has him lining up with Lang and Sharp, taking Bourque's spot.

The 'Bulin Wall will get the start tonight for the Hawks.
