Kevin Weekes will get the start for New Jersey today.

Michal Nylander and Chris Clark will not be in tonight's lineup.

My article in today's Hockey News is up…

Jussi Timonen has been traded to the Stars for a fifth round pick. This does not have any fantasy impact.

I think it's a joke that Dominik Hasek was one of the NHL's three stars for last week. He faced 19 shots, then 16, and then 17 shots in his three games. In fact, he gave up two goals on 17 shots last game. The league just looked at the 3-0 record and low GAA – as I thought they would – and made the call.

Doug Weight has a goal in two straight games after going 25 without any. As much as his value as a fantasy player is about done – he's still capable of much more than what he has been doing.

I like Steven Wagner as a defenseman with upside, but five healthy scratches in the last seven games tells me I should this won't be his year.

Chris Osgood will get the start tonight for Detroit.

Ladislav Nagy was not a healthy scratch Saturday after all. It was a hip flexor injury.

Alexander Frolov, out since Nov. 21 because of an injured groin, said Saturday he is just about ready to return to the lineup.

Simon Gagne was scheduled to practice yesterday for the first time in just over a month. If he can get through a couple of practices without any problems, he could return to game action in as little as a week.

The Flyers have recalled Ryan Potulny from the Phantoms.

The Coyotes have returned Bill Thomas to San Antonio.

With two more points last night, Dustin Byfuglien has nine in his last six games and he is still playing quite well on the top line with Havlat and Robert Lang. He now has my full attention, and my 'short-term' pickup is starting linger on my team for longer than I had planned.

Magnus Johansson returned to the lineup after being a healthy scratch for six straight games and fellow defender Jim Vandermeer was a scratch. Perreault and Samsonov were also scratched.

Anaheim forward Corey Perry was benched for nearly the entire third period for taking too many silly penalties in the offensive zone. He should learn from that. He has 10 minor penalties in the last nine games.

The Blue Jackets put David Vyborny (hip) on injured reserve.

Kris Beech, with five points in five games this season, has won himself a longer look on a line with Rick Nash and Nik Zherdev.

Fred Modin (back) is still at least one week away.

Jared Boll has a sore hand. He will still play, but do not expect any fights.

It was the 1000th win in franchise history for Colorado, and Milan Hejduk had six points while Paul Stastny had five.

Jose Theodore has won three of his last four starts.

Dominik Hasek is the beneficiary of a stingy Detroit defense. The team has allowed 17, 19 and 16 shots in their last three contests, so don't get too excited about Hasek allowing just three goals…

Jiri Hudler had three assists last night and now has 19 points in his last 21 games.
