Did MLSE hire another puppet? Or, I guess, an 'interim' puppet? Check out this youtube link in the forum – it is truly amazing. Watch the Cliff Fletcher press conference carefully…
Sergei Fedorov was placed in IR with concussion symptoms.
As I said earlier this week, Daniel Carcillo will be back next week. He has been sent to San Antonio for a quick rehab assignment.
Nikolai Khabibulin will get the start for the 'Hawks Thursday. Lalime has started the five games, going 4-1-0. Khabibulin has lost his last six.
Dan Fritsche suffered a back injury Tuesday and is likely out until after the All-Star break.
Alexei Ponikarovsky left the game last night with a shoulder injury and will be out of the lineup for "weeks, not days" according to coach Paul Maurice.
Kyle Wellwood has four points in 17 games. He is just not the same player anymore.
Scott Niedermayer is pointless in his last four and is a minus-2 in that span. I hope you traded him when the hype was high.
Jose Theodore will get his 10th straight start Thursday for the Avs.
The Avs returned David Jones to Lake Erie
Jaromir Jagr has 24 points in his last 18 games.
Chris Mason is 4-1-1 in his last six games, with a 1.31 GAA and a .948 SV%
The NHL suspended Ilya Kovalchuk for one game for his hit from behind the other day on Michal Rozsival. They went light on him.
To replace Kovalchuk, the Thrashers have recalled Brett Sterling. This is a big chance to make an impression. Sterling, despite being in the NHL for 10 games, is in the top 10 in AHL scoring and is a player to watch. He is ranked 43 on my top prospects list.
The Thrashers have also recalled Jim Slater.
Sergei Samsonov has seven points in seven games for Carolina.
Tyler Kennedy's 'illness' is actually mono. He could be out for the season – you know how this goes.
The Blues have recalled Yan Stastny. Likely no fantasy impact here.
Sergei Zubov had an MRI on his foot… but the team has not released any news. I do not look at that as a good thing. Why so hush- hush?
The Stars have shuffled their lines in practice: Ribeiro, with Morrow and Eriksson; Miettinen, Jokinen and Hagman. Modano is with Halpern and Ott.
