Carey Price picked up his first NHL shutout last night, stopping 34 shots. There will be many more of those to come in his career. He has given up just one goal in his last 70 shots faced.
Seven of Sean Bergenheim's 15 points have come in the last 13 games and he has four in his last four.
Andrew Ladd has seven points in his last five games. With Stillman, Brind'Amour and Williams gone, Ladd is finally getting his chances.
Stephen Weiss left yesterday's contest with a hand injury. He had two assists in the game.
Thomas Vanek has 15 points in his last 14 games.
Patrick Marleau is a gametime decision. He has been sidelined with a groin injury.
Erik Christensen's "undisclosed" injury turned out to be his shoulder. He is day to day.
Sidney Crosby is participating in contact drills now. I would cautiously guess that he is back in a week.
JP Dumont missed yesterday's game with the flu.
Because the Sabres were behind badly quickly yesterday, Lindy Ruff decided to rest Tim Connolly for the final two periods. That may allow him to play today, but he'll be a gametime decision.
Joffrey Lupul left yesterday's game with a high-ankle sprain. That's the big one, so he'll be gone until late March. That's pretty much the season.
Matt Cullen was back in the Hurricane's lineup yesterday. He played just nine minutes though, so be cautious with him.
Taylor Pyatt left last night's game with a shoulder injury.
Paul Stastny was finally back skating. He is taking it easy though and will not play today or tomorrow.
Fightfest in VAN/EDM game last night. It started with the hit on Burrows after the goal (and quite the slash to retaliate). Here is the footage that ensued:
