Peter Forsberg is not coming back. Now doesn't the media feel stupid for all the countless articles on where Forsberg may or may not be going? Peter Forsberg: going nowhere. I think we may have seen the last of him in the NHL.

Steve Downie's injury is a concussion and he could be out for awhile.

The Sharks placed Marleau on IR and recalled Mike Iggulden. Marleau is still day to day. Iggulden, if given ice time, could put up a point every two games or more.

Proof that stats eventually fall back in line: Holmstrom is pointless in seven games and is now on pace for 51. He has just five points in 18 games since coming back from his knee injury.

Sergei Zubov is still a question mark as to his return date. He is still not practicing with the team as of this weekend.

Jason Williams and Ben Eager both hope to be back in the Chicago lineup this week.

Chicago rearguard James Wisniewski has five points in his last three games.

Crosby will not set a date for his return to the lineup, but he also would not rule out returning prior to the 6-8 week window. Feb. 29 would be the six week anniversary of the injury. As I keep anticipating, I think he will be back within a week.

Simon Gagne will see a concussion specialist on Wednesday so we should have a clearer picture of his situation at that time.

Joe Sakic is travelling with the team on their five-game road trip. He hopes to play by the end of that trip.

David Moss missed Sunday's game with an ankle injury.

The Kings sent Brian Boyle back to Manchester and they recalled Lauri Tukonen. The 21-year-old has 19 points in 39 AHL games and does not have high upside in the NHL.

Osgood should get the start tonight for Detroit.

Brian Rafalski missed last night's game with a groin injury and will likely not be in the lineup tonight either. Consider him day to day.

Braydon Coburn was back in the Philly lineup Sunday and continued his strong play with another two points.

With two assists Sunday, Alexander Radulov has 27 points in his last 27 games.

Jordin Tootoo was back in the Nashville lineup Sunday. He played just over 11 minutes.

Jimmy Howard got the start for Detroit yesterady – his first start of the season in the NHL after coming on twice in relief of Chris Osgood in the last two games. Howard allowed just one goal and in his three NHL appearances this season has allowed just three goals on 60 shots. I think he'll back up Osgood next season and just might steal the starting job from him by the end of 2008.

Carey Price made his third straight start for the Habs and stopped 34 of 37 shots.

Sergei Fedorov was back in the lineup for Columbus and played over 17 minutes.

Brian Rolston missed the Wild game with the flu.

Flyers' GM Paul Holmgren said that he expects Forsberg to make a decision on Tuesday whether or not he is healthy enough to return to the league.
