Check that. TSN has just been notified that Blake has not waived his NTC yet. Never say never, though.

Rob Blake has waived his NTC and there are two suitors in the West (rumored to be Detroit and Anaheim). I suspect Colorado is after him as well.

Vaclav Prospal to Philadelphia for defenseman Alex Picard and a draft pick.

Angus again.  HUGE NEWS. The Lightning have JUST re-signed Dan Boyle to a six year deal worth $40 million. Bye-bye Richards!

Hey gang, Angus here. Finally a confirmation: Brad Richards gave his list, and it has come down to Vancouver, Dallas, and Columbus. I'll be around for most of tonight and tomorrow to help Dobber break any trades, if the GM's around the NHL finally decide to get the ball rolling!

Paul Mara underwent facial surgery today and will be on the shelf for the next two weeks. This hurts his odds of being traded. That is bad news, because he has zero value in New York.

Just minutes after writing a piece in tomorrow's Daily Slate about Peter Forsberg maybe changing his mind, I hear the Avs announce that he has signed with them for the rest of this season. Expect 20 points this season from him, as I am sure he will not play all the games. If the team can get a QB tomorrow, they could do some damage in the postseason.

One thing this Forsberg 'about face' tells me is nothing that a player or team announces as fact… is actually fact. Things can always change. Right Mats Sundin?

Need tips on trading? Check out my article on The Hockey News .

No fantasy implications here, but Ethan Moreau is out for the season with a broken ankle.

Maxim Afinogenov took part in Buffalo's practice yesterday and could return to the lineup soon. Indications are that he will be back by next Sunday.

Jochen Hecht could play tonight.

Jaroslav Hlinka was scratched for the third game in a row.

Fleury is back with the big club. It is doubtful that he will start Tuesday as Therrien wants him to have a full practice first. The team will go with three goaltenders for now, and probably for the rest of the season.

The Pens waived Nathan Smith Saturday. Connor James was returned to Wilkes-Barre because Christensen is back.

David Legwand's DUI court date is set for March 12.

Ray Emery will make his fifth straight start tonight and is Ottawa's No.1 goalie. Remember in November when I said neither Sens goalie will get 30 wins? That will almost certainly be the case.

No update on the status of Chris Neil's knee.

Randy Robitaille is now on the Heatley and Spezza line. I think you will eventually see Stillman there. Whenever he has had a cameo on that line, it seems as if a goal is scored.

Ottawa is right in the thick of the Hossa bidding, apparently offering Vermette, a top pick, and one of Lee, Foligno or Zubov.

Brad Richards could wind up in Dallas, Columbus, Vancouver or Chicago by Tuesday.

Patrick Eaves (shoulder) should make his Carolina debut this week some time.

Nikolai Khabibulin will undergo an MRI on his back today that will look for any structural damage.

Brent Sopel is out 2-3 weeks with a fractured left hand.

Florida's Mike Van Ryn was back handling pucks yesterday, saying that it is the most range in motion that he has felt in years.

Rostislav Olesz did not miss any time after all. He left Saturday's game after blocking a shot with his foot but was back Sunday.

Patrice Bergeron hit the ice for the first time in 120 days yesterday.  He skated for 10 minutes.

New Band-Aid Boy Trainee, Mike Richards, will be out for the next three weeks after 'ripping' his left hamstring Saturday. He played 59 games last season and will be lucky to reach 69 this season, which – especially given his style of play – is more than enough to garner 'trainee' status. Jeff Carter will fill the Richards void.

Steve Downie (concussion) may play tonight.

The Rangers recalled Marcel Hossa yesterday, but he played fewer than nine minutes and did not factor in the scoring.

Teemu Selanne had a five-point game yesterday – clearly is back in gameshape. His outburst is pulling a big second half out of Chris Kunitz, who had four points. They started out playing with Andrew Ebbett, but in the end Ryan Getzlaf was their pivot.

Ebbett played four minutes on the power play and 13:15 overall, but was held pointless.
