Bruce Garrioch in the Ottawa Sun is reporting that not only will Jason Spezza play, but Daniel Alfredsson will return to the lineup as well.
Keep an eye on this player. Another high-scoring winger in the Phoenix organization, Chad Kolarik, has signed an entry-level deal. He was third in NCAA scoring last season. He ranks 234 on my fantasy hockey rankings, but moves up with this news. He joins Kevin Porter and Brett McLean as a promising high-scoring winger in the organization. He is less certain than the other two, but warrants consideration nonetheless.
Angelo Esposito has signed to play with Atlanta's affiliate Chicago in the AHL for this year.
Detroit has recalled Darren Helm, Cory Emmerton, Jimmy Howard and Jakub Kindl from Grand Rapids, who are out of the AHL playoffs.
Patrick Thoresen did not play yesterday afterall.
Kiprusoff allowed three goals on five shots and got the hook last night. Cujo stopped all 22 shots to pick up the win.
Kristian Huselius managed an assist last night, despite 11:38 of ice time and ZERO seconds on the power play (there were only two short ones though). He was a plus-1
Christian Ehrhoff (lower body) still did not play last night, but is getting closer and may play for Game 4.
David Jones, who was in a walking cast on Friday and Saturday, skated on Sunday and may play tonight.
Marian Gaborik has no points and is minus-2 so far in the series.
David Legwand did not skate yesterday and will not skate this morning. Yet, he will be a game-time decision for tonight's Game 3.
The Preds are finally talking about breaking up Hlavac, Dumont and Arnott. Gee, how about Radulov?
The Sens are hush-hush about the status of Jason Spezza. He did not practice, nor speak to the media – which he loves doing. He injured his leg Friday and rarely played after that.
Alexander Nikulin will get into the lineup tonight and play with Spezza (if he plays) and Foligno.
It's funny, the Pittsburgh paper flutters around all worried about Daniel Alfredsson possibly coming back…meanwhile, the Ottawa papers make no mention on that and instead focus on Spezza.
Phil Kessel was scratched for the second time. Wideman got back in.
After today, Patrice Bergeron will have practiced for seven days since he was cleared to play. You will probably hear news that he will return sometime tomorrow I am sure.
Hilarious footage found by Torture in our forum. Watch Avery in front of Brodeur…and try not to laugh, I dare you. I love this guy! Breaks all the rules and does not follow any code haha:
