The Coyotes have signed Oshawa sniper Brett MacLean to an entry level contract. MacLean ranks 39th on my fantasy prospects list and has a 40-goal future in the NHL on a young Phoenix team. I don't expect him to make the team this year – but it is possible.

Do you guys really need the latest Peter Forsberg update? He may play, but he may not. Just copy and paste that news every day.

There is a bit of a discussion in Montreal about whether or not the Habs will start Price or Halak, but the smart money is on Price coming back to start Game 4. He got the hook after two periods last night and Halak stopped all…er two shots that he faced in the third.

You know… I said this two years ago the moment the trade happened, but I would just like to say it again – If the Leafs were going to trade Tuukka Rask for a starting goaltender, they should have done it for Martin Biron not Andrew Raycroft. What were they thinking? It was no secret that Biron was available and the Sabres definitely would have jumped on the offer. Am I really that much superior in the pro scouting department as the entire Maple Leaf organization? Hmmm, I think I just answered my own question there.

The Post-Gazette is reporting that Gary Roberts could have played on Sunday, but Therrien did not want to yank a guy at the last minute. So he could play tonight, but we shall see if he can steal a player's spot when the team is winning.

Look at this clown's article . Actually, don't, because it's kind of boring. Mr. Cook thinks that because Hossa has just two goals in 35 shots he should be pulled from the top unit in favor of Petr Sykora (four goals in 20 shots). Typical media knee-jerk. Stirring the pot. Doesn't Therrien mess with the lines enough? Sykora has chemistry with Malkin – don't ever change that. Hossa is two posts away from sitting at four goals right now, the goals will come. Instead, get Dupuis off the line and put in Staal. There's the change that needs to be made. Or, believe it or not, I really liked how Max Talbot looked there.

I wrote this in today's Slate: Despite his 26-10-4 regular season record for the Toronto Marlies in the AHL, goaltender Justin Pogge has not been the starter in the Calder Cup playoffs. The decision was made to put veteran Scott Clemmensen between the pipes for all seven of Toronto's first round games against San Antonio. The decision is puzzling, given Pogge's stature within the organization as one of their top prospects. A playoff run would go a long way towards his development. The Marlies won their first series in franchise history Monday to move onto the second round.

There was a report on Rotoworld that I noticed last night that stated that Erat, Weber and Suter would be unrestricted free agents. Just wanted to clarify that I am sure RW meant "restricted" and not "unrestricted". Clearly, they are not UFA's.

My favorite play-by-play man Rick Jeanerette – here are his top 10 calls, including "Fa-la-la-la-la la-lafontaine" and "May-day! May-day!" (although that one gets cut off)

Regretfully, for this six-week window, NHL news is painfully slow. To the point where in May of last year I had people complain in the forum about the brief ramblings. Guys – I'm as starved for decent fantasy hockey news as you are…but I can't make news haha. Any scrap I can dig up will be here. Meanwhile, sate your hunger in our forum where fantasy hockey talk lives on.
