Jeff O'Neill has been invited to the Carolina training camp on a tryout basis. If he's in shape, they'll sign him. If not, they won't. Simple as that. Best case scenario, though, is the high 40s for O'Neill in terms of points.
The Leafs have named Doug Gilmour as an assistant coach of the Marlies. I think he is being groomed for something a few years in the future and think it would be great for hockey in Toronto if he could work his way up to the show.
Minor Leaguer David Ling has signed to play in the Swiss League next season.
If you didn't already – a MUST HEAR – the debut of Dobber Nation Radio Show Powered by the Hockey Guild. The trial run is over – all the kinks have been worked out, and we have brought in some great guests. TSN.ca's Scott Cullen, Spector's Hockey's (and my colleague at The Hockey News, as well as Fox Sports) Lyle Richardson, and DobberHockey's Jeff Angus.
If you haven't already – check out DobberBaseball and tell your baseball friends about it!
There is a promotion going on for the next week for DobberHockey swag – 25% off your order of two or more items. Just use the code CADSCHOOL308 and get 25% off shirts, hats and bags. My personal favorites are the sleeveless black DobberHockey shirt – great quality, lightweight, feels great to wear – and the white DobberHockey hat with pinstripes.
