Chicago has traded Robert Lang to the Habs for a 2nd round pick in 2010. I will have an analysis on this one probably tomorrow morning.
I just finished my writeup/ analysis/ commentary for last night's Expert Roto Draft. It is in the guide but needs formatting, converting and translation. I need a break, so the Fantasy Guide update won't be up until later tonight or tomorrow – with the above addition, plus some other updates/changes.
A leg injury was detected during Friday's morning physicals on Nikita Filatov, according to the Dispatch . He will miss prospects camp and the first four or five days of the main camp as a precautionary measure. This may hurt his chances of making the squad.
Newsday is reporting that Mike Sillinger is still experiencing discomfort in his hip and is still not cleared for contact. Exhibition games are looking doubtful, and the start of the season is even a question mark. While this doesn't bode well for Sillinger owners, it certainly helps the kids on the team trying to get PP time.
Lecavalier is targeting the second-last preseason game for a return to the Lightning's game-roster. He missed the last game of the season and underwent shoulder surgery. His shot will be weak for the first month or two as he gets into form.
I guess Tyson Nash turned down his invite to the TB training camp. Phoenix announced that Nash will be their radio analyst this season, replacing Louie DeBrusk.
Tom Reed blogged in the Dispatch that Nikita Filatov was ordered to stay and rest at the hotel for a couple of days after a long flight – he would not be allowed to practice. The coach arrived at the rink the next morning and Filatov was sitting in the stands watching the guys play. Love the attitude!
Reed also mentioned that Huselius and Umberger have been skating together. Those two will line up with Rick Nash for much of the season, I have little doubt.
Last night was the DobberHockey draft – Expert Division. I selected fourth. I had some interesting strategies that I will talk about extensively in the Fantasy Guide – all the picks, thoughts, strategy and comments should be added to the Fantasy Hockey Guide within a few days. (A teaser for you – I drafted both Teemu Selanne and Alexander Radulov, but will explain the reasons for doing so and why the specific circumstances warranted it – in the Guide)
Eric Fehr told the Washington Post that his back is now 100 percent.
