The Ducks have signed Teemu Selanne to a pro tryout agreement, allowing him to practice with the team. As soon as Schneider is off the cap, they will sign Selanne to a contract.

The Rangers have invited Petr Nedved and Maxim Kondratiev to camp. The Nedved invite was announced earlier. I find that one intriguing, but do not anticipate him making the team as a regular. Perhaps as a 13th forward for PP duty.

The Sens have invited Luke Richardson to camp on a tryout.

The Leafs have invited goalie Adam Munro to camp.

Marcus Nilson has signed with Lokomitiv of the KHL.

In a freak golfing accident, Erik Johnson injured his knee, tweaking it when stepping off a moving cart. The knee swelled up and a conclusive MRI cannot be performed until Sunday or Monday, so the team will not say how long he will be out. Could be anywhere from 1-25 weeks. Stay tuned, and be wary of this at the draft table.

Patrick O'Sullivan owners are starting to worry – he will not report to camp, as per the Kings' request. He needs a contract in place first. Talks are reportedly not close. My opinion is that something will get done by October 3.

The Wild have promoted 15 prospects to their main camp: Colton Gillies, Cal Clutterbuck, Tyler Cuma, Ryan Graham, Matt Kassian, Cody Almond, Justin Hodgman, Morten Madsen, Carson McMillan, Justin Falk, Maxim Noreau, Frederic St. Denis, Marco Scandella, Tyler Schmidt and Anton Khudobin. Pouliot and Kalus were already at the main camp.

The Flyers have signed JS Aubin to a one-year deal. He will back up Biron while Niittymaki recovers from hip surgery.

The Tampa Tribune is reporting that the Paul Ranger will not be ready to play hockey games until the start of October due to recovery from his shoulder surgery. The Trib also reported that Nick Tarnasky broke his thumb after getting hit with the puck.

Jason Pominville signed a five-year, $25+ million contract extension with the Sabres. This kind of money assures PP ice time and lots of it!

Sergei Zubov is out for four weeks after hip surgery. That takes him out until mid to late October, which means about 4-8 games.

Philippe Boucher has a sore foot and is day to day – don't trust this, with Boucher things could get worse with that foot.
