Dobber Sports

2008-10-24

I have THREE very exciting announcements, so rather than clog the ramblings, I stuck them all HERE in the forum .

Dobber – Spoofed! You can read more in today's Daily Seagull

Jason Arnott was back in the Preds lineup last night and picked up two points.

Nashville scratched Patric Hornqvist for the first time, but Ryan Jones stayed in the lineup. Jones played with Erat and Legwand but was held pointless. Nick Tarnasky returned to the lineup in Hornqvist's place.

The Wild welcomed Marek Zidlicky and PM Bouchard back to their lineup. Each played nearly 20 minutes.

Antti Miettinen showed why I call him inconsistent – he was pointless and a minus-3 on the night.

Anaheim signed Brett Hedican to a one-year deal. I don't expect much of an impact offensively from Hedican, who is in the twilight of his career and injury prone to boot.

Ryan Getzlaf had a root canal done on Tuesday for an abcessed tooth. He practiced yesterday and will play tonight.

Ruslan Fedotenko finally got on the scoresheet with a goal last night. Why the Pens play him over giving Bill Thomas a shot, I'll never know. Thomas was a scratch again.

Pascal Dupuis played his second game on a line with Malkin and Crosby. He was pointless, despite them getting two points each. I could get points on that line. So could my grandmother. The Dupuis experiment will end soon.

Both Matt Cooke (abdomen) and Hal Gill (undisclosed) should be back in the lineup tomorrow.

Mark Giordano was down to 9:17. He's a step away from a healthy scratch. He is not putting up points (1), has yet to record a penalty minute (0) and has just seven shots. Something has to give soon.

Steve Mason is back from knee surgery and the Jackets sent him down to Syracuse.

Steve Ott missed last night's contest with a groin injury.

The Stars finally put Loui Eriksson on the line with Ribeiro and Morrow, something that worked well late last season. It worked last night, too. Eriksson had two goals while Ribeiro had five points and Morrow three.

In his last five games, Fabian Brunnstrom has two points and is a minus-6. He played just nine minutes last night. He's a healthy scratch candidate.

James Neal played just 5:49 last night. He may not get past that ninth game.

The Isles scratched Jack Hillen because Chris Campoli was back in action. With Brendan Witt leaving the game last night in the first (don't know why), Hillen should be back next contest unless Andy Sutton returns.

Both Sutton and Mike Sillinger are close to returning. Sillinger may be worth a flyer as a depth center in your league.

St.Louis sent Jeff Woywitka to Peoria after he recovered from his foot injury. He cleared waivers.

Mark Parrish has signed to play with Bridgeport of the AHL, which puts him in the Islanders' organization.
