The Sudbury Wolves have announced that the IIHF has awarded them their long-awaited transfer of Nikita Filatov. Now Columbus needs to make a decision. Filatov has not scored in the two games since returning to the AHL, so perhaps the team would prefer he develop this year in junior. Expect a decision this week. If he is sent to the OHL, he will not be back in the NHL this year. Sudbury fans rejoice!

The Miami Herald is reporting that Cory Stillman will miss at least three games with a concussion.

Patrick O'Sullivan was dropped to the third line last night with Stoll and Boyle. He played just 13:40. Kyle Calder saw time on the top line. The combos don't matter, as the Kings were shutout – meaning they will probably change.

Jack Johnson is apparently ahead of schedule and hopes to return to the lineup in early January.

Peter Harrold was used as a forward for the Kings last night. He still went pointless, but had three shots. Watch his yahoo eligibility, but wait until the Kings start scoring.

It was Erik Ersberg's first start last night and he carried a shutout into overtime. If the LA Times is a good reflection of the general feeling of Kings' fans, indications are that they are not happy with all the line-juggling …and not enough goalie juggling. Ersberg should have had more starts at this point and he deserves the start tomorrow. So says the Times.

George Parros missed last night's contest with an eye injury.

Mikhail Grabovski's three points give him five in his last two games. He's heating up!

Sergei Samsonov picked up an assist in OT, giving him points in consecutive contests. He played with Brind'Amour and Walker. Perhaps he's over the hump now.

The Detroit News is reporting that Nik Lidstrom has been bothered by his elbow for six months now and had it looked at by a doctor yesterday. The results are unknown. But two NHL legends couldn't have serious elbow problems at the same time, could they?

The Blue Jackets recalled Steve Mason yesterday. He will not get the start tonight, though. He will start either Friday or Saturday. Pascal Leclaire will not be back until next week at the earliest.

Derick Brassard (flu) is questionable for tonight. Rostislav Klesla is doubtful.

Denis Grebeshkov (mild concussion) skated yesterday, but is questionable for tonight.

The line on Todd Bertuzzi: 18:49 of ice time, minus-3, no points and one shot.

Kyle Turris was a healthy scratch for Phoenix last night. Do not worry about that – Peter Mueller was scratched around this time last year. In fact, now is the time you should go after Turris in your league.

Kyle Wellwood continues his torrid pace. In the seven games since his recall he has seven points. He has apparently rediscovered his touch… I'm still wary of his injury proneness, but I'm convinced he has found his mojo again.

Michel Ouellet played 10 minutes last night and was a plus-1. He played with Wellwood and Pyatt, which is actually a decent second line if the three of them can see their potential.

Brent Burns did not play last night after all – his undisclosed "upper body" injury may be more serious than the team lets on.

Sean Bergenheim did not play last night due to illness.
