CONTEST ALERT! Last week, Carolina led the Caps 2-1 with three minutes to play. Alexander Semin scored twice to win the game, becoming the first player in nine years to score the game-tying and game-winning goal in the final three minutes of the third period in one game. Name the last player to perform the feat. Put your answer in the forum in the NHL Discussion thread. The first person to do so will WIN "Shooting From the Lip", a book from Firefly publishing. You may have noticed the ad on the left side, or you can read up on the book HERE . Good luck!

Paul Kariya will return to the St. Louis lineup Wednesday. He had a lower-body injury.

Alfredsson, Fisher and Winchester have combined for 11 points in their last three games.

Roman Hamrlik is out day to day with a shoulder injury.

Pavol Demitra is targeting a return to the lineup this coming Saturday. He is recovering from fractured ribs.

Steve Mason is going to start his fourth straight game on Wednesday. Leclaire is hoping to be back by the weekend – he is practicing today.

Brent Johnson has started three straight games for the Caps. Do not be discouraged. If you recall, last November poolies were certain that Peter Budaj was the No.1 in Colorado and by January Theodore took it back for good. It will probably be a good three weeks before Theodore starts getting multiple starts in a row again.

Sergei Fedorov and Chris Clark both missed Saturday's game with undisclosed injuries.

Peter Prucha is pointless in eight games this season. Indications are that he will be benched tonight in favor of Dan Fritsche.

The monkey is finally off the back of Toews, who scored his first goal last night.

Brian Gionta did not play last night because of soreness suffered in the game Saturday. He is day to day.

Paul Martin should return Wednesday to the lineup, which will probably remove the disappointing Anssi Salmela.

Bryzgalov is back: 56 saves on 59 shots this weekend. He is a top 10 goalie to own.

Jeff Deslauriers picked up his second win in two starts, stopping 37 of 38 shots. The Oilers understand that he can not only be their backup, but he can probably be their starter. Roloson's days are probably numbered, or else Garon will go.

Another goaltending controversy: Craig Anderson is 2-1-1, 2.27 and .938. Vokoun is 3-7-0, 3.10 and .910.

Miikka Kiprusoff has allowed 16 goals in his last three games.

Kris Versteeg is still rolling: 12 points in 13 games this year.

The Rangers recalled Lauri Korpikoski.

Jere Lehtinen should finally start his season tomorrow for Dallas.
