Saku Koivu left last night's contest with a lower body injury. It sounds as though he will miss some time. This could impact the hot D'Agostini, who has been his linemate (and was pointless and minus-2 last night). Robert Lang stands to benefit.

Pascal Dupuis, Petr Sykora, Dustin Brown and Scott Hartnell all had hat tricks last night – for the first three, it was the first of their career.

From the Tennessean:   Trotz sounded optimistic when asked about the status of forward Steve Sullivan. He said the coaching staff will meet early next week to plan the next steps for Sullivan, who has not suffered any setbacks to his back since he resumed skating on a regular basis. His next challenge is to see how he handles weight and contact while on skates. Asked if Sullivan would soon be returning to practice, Trotz said, “If you’re asking me what his chances are, I think they’re good. I wouldn’t have said that a few months ago … That would be a nice little free-agent acquisition for us.’’

Justin Williams played just 10 minutes last night, but still managed to pick up an assist. He played with Cullen and Bayda. Maurice is easing him back in.

It was interesting that Paul Maurice had Bryan Rodney and Brett Carson manning the point on the second PP unit, rather than use forwards back there, as Laviollette did. The two saw over three minutes of PP time and 23 minutes of ice time overall, but did not record a point.

Patrick Eaves saw 18:31 of ice time (4:11 shorthanded). That's over two minutes more than Samsonov and Ruutu.

Braydon Coburn logged nearly 33 minutes of ice time last night.

Ryan Jones lined up on the first line with Wade Belak and Rich Peverley. Okay, not really the first line. Good ol' Trotz, applying his 'Alexander Radulov' theory on Jones now. Jone played 10:43 and saw no PP time.

Joakim Lindstrom saw just under 11 minutes of ice, but was on the second PP unit. He scored his first goal as a Coyote. Not worth a pickup yet – only watching.

In his season debut, Teddy Purcell notched an assist in 10 minutes of ice time. He did not see PP time.

David Krejci has 15 points in his last 10 games.

Michal Frolik has six in his last six.

David Moss has nine in his last 11. Like Curtis Glencross, he could potentially be a 55-point player as early as this year.

Nine of Ville Peltonen's 11 points have come in his last 10 games. He should be eligible on either wing in your league, making him a valuable short-term pickup. His last two games he has seen 19:24 and 18:55 of ice time, so the coach likes him.

Washington's Viktor Kozlov has 13 points in his last 14 games.

Jakub Voracek has but one point in his last 11 and he was a healthy scratch on Sunday. Under Hitchcock, he may not pull out of this. In fact, the Jackets may swap star prospects by sending him down and calling Filatov up – that way, they can wreck two prospects in the same season!

After 23 points in 23 games, Ryane Clowe is pointless in his last four. His ice time is still up there, this is just a slump – he is hot/cold often.

Mikhail Grabovski is pointless in his last three and is a minus-3 in that span.

Kristian Huselius is pointless in his last three and is a minus-4 in that span. He logging monster ice time though, and when he gots hot there really isn't anything like it. Can he reach that level under Hitchcock?
