Wade Redden was a horrible minus-4 last night – just when you thought he was shaking his slump.

It's rare that you see a player notch four points, yet still be a minus-2 like Nik Zherdev last night.

Carey Price has the flu and Halak will get the start today. Marc Denis has been recalled to be the backup.

With Mike Green now at 19 points in 19 games… and he had seven points in seven playoff games… and he ended last season with 13 points in 12 games… he is on a run of 39 points in his last 38 contests.

Antoine Vermette saw just 15:55 of ice time last night – his second lowest of the season. His five points in 27 games are nothing short of disgusting. This is a former QMJHL and AHL star, drafted in the second round, who had seasons of 14, 33, 39, and 53 – in that order. The next logical step should be 60. He is on pace for 15. Remarkable. All the fantasy hockey research in the world couldn't see that coming. The only difference in the forward lines is – coaching.

Boston rookie rearguard Matt Hunwick has 12 points in his last 12 games. Where did he come from and why are the Bruins scoring so many goals? For a seventh round draft pick who didn't make the team to start the year and was a frequent healthy scratch when he was recalled… things have really turned around.

Dustin Byfuglien may have scored twice last night, but he still played just 12 minutes, so he's still not in the picture as far as Quenneville is concerned.

Wojtek Wolski had 50 points as a rookie, 48 points last season, and is on pace for 46 this year.

Although I acknowledge his potential, I have never been a big fan of him reaching it. I have never owned him in any of my leagues and don't plan to. Next year will be the decider – his fourth. But I think you'll find that I am right.

Nathan Gerbe has played four games now but has yet to record a point. He is a plus-3 though. His ice time was 13:39 last night and he averages over two shots per game.

Michael Frolik played over 20 minutes last night for the first time in his NHL career. He has seven points in his last seven games.

Curtis Glencross, who I hyped as a strong sleeper in the fantasy guide, has 14 points in his last 14 games for the Flames. He is not seeing power-play time, but is one of the better third-liners out there.

Ondrej Pavelec allowed three goals on the first four shots and got the hook last night.

The Habs have recalled Ben Maxwell from Hamilton. He has 20 points in 26 games for the Bulldogs.

The Preds assigned Ryan Jones back to Milwaukee. Tootoo will play today.

This is a surprise – the Coyotes have sent Kevin Porter to San Antonio of the AHL. This is clearly a reflection of the play of Joakim Lindstrom, who I felt should have been an NHLer last year. If you are willing to roll the dice on a winger, try Lindstrom.

The Caps have sent Oskar Osala back to Hershey and have recalled Semen Varlamov. With Jose Theodore out and Brent Johnson struggling with a sore hip, do not be shocked if Varlamov gets into some action. He is not worth a pickup in one-year leagues at this time.

Travis Zajac scored twice and was in a fight – but he left the game. The Devils will not say that he has a concussion, but he is questionable for today's contest.

In a weird move – the Devils have risked losing Petr Vrana for nothing. They are trying to sneak him through waivers and into the AHL. Meanwhile, the guy has offensive talent – he led their AHL team in scoring last year – and he makes the salary minimum. Teams such as the Thrashers or the Leafs would be nuts to let him slide through.
