Finally, Paul Kariya will practice with the Blues Friday. TJ Oshie will also practice on that day. Expect Oshie back in a week, and Kariya in about 10-14 days (my opinion).
Tough game for Cory Schneider – he allowed five goals on 15 shots last night. Sanford gave up zero in 16. This speaks volumes to me, as it probably means Sanford will get more starts going forward.
Andreas Nodl scored in his first game back into the NHL. He has four points in seven AHL games.
Kris Letang missed last night's game with a lower body injury, he was not a healthy scratch. Ryan Whitney returned and took his spot. Whitney played over 23 minutes and over four on the PP, whereas Goligoski saw his PP time drop to 1:22 – not a good sign for Goli owners.
Two points last night give AHL star Paul Szczechura four in his last seven. The 23-year-old undrafted pivot could eventually pan out to be a 60-point player in the NHL, but not this year.
He had three points last night, but his fantasy owners take little solace after the news that Paul Stastny has a broken arm. In the final minute of the game, Olli Jokinen's shot went right off his arm and just like that he won't see any action in January. In my mind – TJ Hensick should be the No.1 center for the next few weeks, unless he blows it. That's a nice promotion from the press box. Hensick is a must-own now in all formats, as I have little doubt that he will perform.
