Erik Cole's three points last night were a good sign. He played with Sam Gagner and Robert Nilsson and he saw over 19 minutes of ice time. Still, even a turnaround to his season won't make him a 65-point player in Edmonton.
Evgeny Artyukhin scored and had 20 PIMs on Friday and the coach rewarded him with 13:16 of ice time on Saturday. He scored again, along with four penalty minutes, so perhaps he'll continue seeing ice time. The 13:16 is his third most all season. Artyukhin was my preseason prediction to be this year's Carcillo and a dark horse to get 25 point and 250 PIMs, but he's had trouble getting the ice time.
The Toronto Star is now saying that Matt Stajan could miss two weeks with that eye injury.
The Oilers have sent Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers to the AHL for conditioning.
The Habs returned Max Pacioretty to the minors without getting him into a game.
Mike Green was back in the Caps lineup and the points machine picked up another two. It's only a matter of time before this guy wins the scoring race among defensemen. Maybe not this year, because of the injuries. But sometime soon.
