The Flyers have returned Luca Sbisa to junior. Had he played that 40th game, it would have kickstarted the eight years that the team would hold the rights to him, making him a UFA at age 25.

The Rangers have recalled Artem Anisimov from the AHL. He practiced with Voros and Korpikoski. Anisimov is ranked 68th on my prospects list, but is moving up with his solid AHL season.

Alexandre Picard has been placed on waivers. The move was likely made to make room for Klesla, who is apparently ready to return.

Bryan Little has apparently been taken back off the Kovalchuk line in an effort to get White and Kozlov going again.

Zetterberg felt better in practice but will not play tonight. He will likely return Wednesday. Ville Leino will remain on the Datsyuk-Hossa line as Holmstrom is also out tonight.

Chris Clark could undergo wrist surgery that will put him out for the season. They are determining that now.

The Bruins returned Rask to the AHL, meaning Fernandez is good to go.

HUGE news in Ottawa. The Sens finally fired coach Craig Hartsburg. I know I said this a week ago, but now I am quite confident – Spezza, Heatley, Alfredsson, Fisher and Vermette will all start producing. And maybe, by extension, Jesse Winchester or Ilya Zubov.

Luca Caputi has 13 points in his last 11 AHL games for WBS. The Pens prospect winger ranks 51 on my prospects list, but should slip into the top 30 with next week's update.

An example of why I do not overpay to stash stars on my bench in September: Mats Sundin has three points and is a minus-6 in nine games. If you put him in your lineup that would actually hurt your team. Peter Forsberg will not play at all this year. If you picked him up, he ate a roster spot for four months. Steve Sullivan has two points and is a minus-7 in eight games. If you dressed him, he would have hurt the cause. A lot of people in rotisserie leagues have this same "strategy" and they think they're so clever – let's get one of these stars off of waivers and stash them for three months. I agree it is worth doing for the minimum cost (I did draft Alexander Radulov in one league, after all – but only because I took Langenbrunner six picks earlier and completed my RW position already), but it is never worth getting into a bidding war. These guys need to go through training camp – meaning if they join the team in January, their own personal training camp will last for a good four weeks of bad production in games.

My anticipated bounce-back by the Sens in front of Elliott is starting to fall flat. Elliott was yanked after giving up four goals yesterday. They are 1-3-0 since I made my bold prediction over at THN. Bah, that's why I just claim to be right 52% of the time!

After playing one AHL game in his reconditioning stint, Fabian Brunnstrom is now back up with the Stars.

Robert Lang suffered what appears to be a severed achilles tendon. The early outlook is that he could miss a couple of months or more. Tomas Plekanec owners benefit from this news.

Guillaume Latendresse suffered a shoulder injury. There is no word on the severity, but his absence will help Pacioretty and Sergei Kostitsyn.

Alexei Kovalev was benched for most of the third period for perceived lack of effort. This happens with Kovalev – the guy should be a perennial 90-point player, but he rarely is.

The Blues recalled Andy Woznieski and Steve Wagner – but they would not say which defensemen are currently banged up and in danger of missing the next game. stay tuned – the smart money is on Band-Aid Boy Colaiacovo!
