Eric Maltais, who pens Croaks, from the Fantasy Frog, gives you his take on most of the players from a fantasy standpoint. Some may differ from what you find in the DobberHockey Fantasy Guide, but it’s good to have several viewpoints.

Player UFA GP G A PTS +/- PIM PP SOG Pct TOI PPTOI
Calder, Kyle LW LA X 74 8 19 27 -1 41 4 93 8.6 13.17 1.58
I’ll be surprised if he ever becomes fantasy worthy again.
Callahan, Ryan RW NYR 81 22 18 40 7 45 4 237 9.3 17.06 1.50
Showed marked improvement and could score 30 goals with a larger role, i.e. more power play time.
Cammalleri, Michael C CGY X 81 39 43 82 -2 44 34 255 15.3 17.56 4.05
Value greatly linked to his whereabouts and linemates. Formed one of the top duos in the NHL combining with Iginla on 42 goals.
Campbell, Brian D CHI 82 7 45 52 5 22 24 108 6.5 22.57 4.50
Not bad, but coming off a 62-point season, a real disappointment particularly his power play production.
Campbell, Gregory C FLA 77 13 19 32 0 76 2 135 9.6 16.79 0.92
Very close to his ceiling.
Campoli, Chris D OTT 76 11 19 30 -16 55 11 91 12.1 19.54 2.42
It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him score 40 points, but he’s too inconsistent and injury prone to expect more than 30.
Carcillo, Daniel LW PHI 74 3 11 14 -15 254 3 130 2.3 11.52 0.85
The Flyers’ roster is too deep to allow Carcillo to contribute offensively, but he’ll continue leading the league in penalty minutes.
Carle, Matt D PHI 76 5 21 26 3 22 8 85 5.9 21.39 2.39
Did much better than last season, but I want wouldn’t expect more than 30 points in 2009-10.
Carter, Jeff C PHI 82 46 38 84 23 68 24 342 13.5 20.94 2.77
He has a legitimate shot at scoring 50 next season.
Chara, Zdeno D BOS 80 19 31 50 23 95 28 216 8.8 26.07 3.77
As reliable as it gets, pretty much the same for the sixth straight season.
Cheechoo, Jonathan RW SJ 66 12 17 29 -3 59 9 152 7.9 15.32 2.11
And we thought last year was bad…at least I don’t think he can go any lower.
Chimera, Jason LW CLB 49 8 14 22 8 41 2 115 7 16.25 2.13
No worse, no better than usual except for the injuries.
Christensen, Erik C ANA 64 7 21 28 -9 20 7 122 5.7 13.65 2.25
Typical 4A player.
Clark, Brett D COL 76 2 10 12 -16 32 2 97 2.1 22.34 2.36
This guy scored 39 points two years ago, looks like he never fully recovered from the shoulder injury that caused him to the last 25 games of 2007-08.
Clark, Chris RW WAS 32 1 5 6 -3 32 1 36 2.8 11.57 1.25
Injuries ruined his last two seasons, but even so he’ll never score 30 goals or 50 points again and I’d bet he’ll never reach 20-40 again either.
Clarkson, David C NJ 82 17 15 32 -1 164 6 158 10.8 12.05 1.52
Improving each year, he could score 20 goals which makes him very valuable with those PIM numbers.
Cleary, Daniel LW DET 74 14 26 40 0 46 6 163 8.6 16.94 1.75
See Mikael Samuelsson
Clowe, Ryane RW SJ 71 22 30 52 8 51 24 161 13.7 17.78 3.09
Was forgotten by many after a knee injury forced him to miss 67 games last year. Tends to go through hot and cold streaks so if he can avoid some of those slumps he could do even better.
Clutterbuck, Cal RW MIN 78 11 7 18 -5 76 1 136 8.1 13.01 0.40
The NHL’s premier hit man, Clutterbuck would be a fantasy start if hits were a widely used category.
Coburn, Braydon D PHI 80 7 21 28 7 97 11 130 5.4 24.62 2.79
Expected at least 40 points from Coburn, but he didn’t produce on the power play. I think he’ll bounce back.
Cogliano, Andrew C EDM 82 18 20 38 -6 22 9 116 15.5 14.39 1.96
Will improve following a difficult sophomore season expect 50 to 60 points next season.
Colaiacovo, Carlo D STL 73 3 27 30 0 35 20 87 3.4 18.26 3.46
Averaged almost half a point per game in St-Louis. Will form an excellent PP duo with Erik Johnson.
Cole, Erik LW CAR X 80 18 24 42 0 73 9 178 10.1 17.62 2.61
A bust in Edmonton, Cole will go back to scoring between 50 and 60 points next season if he re-signs with Carolina.
Comeau, Blake RW NYI 53 7 18 25 -17 32 9 78 9 16.27 1.82
Has some nice stretches and with a bit more consistency could score 50 points in 2009-10.
Commodore, Mike D CLB 81 5 19 24 11 100 2 103 4.9 22.90 0.98
25 points and 100 penalty minutes does have some value.
Comrie, Mike C OTT X 63 10 17 27 -15 32 6 121 8.3 15.70 2.77
Unless he somehow re-signs and becomes Heatley pivot, I don’t expect more than 45 points from Comrie.
Conner, Chris RW DAL 38 3 10 13 -5 10 1 34 8.8 10.93 0.21
I’ll be surprised if he ever scores 12 goals in an NHL season.
Connolly, Tim C BUF 48 18 29 47 12 22 18 126 14.3 19.12 3.91
One of these years he’ll stay healthy and put up 70 points, just don’t draft him expecting more than 40.
Conroy, Craig C CGY 82 12 36 48 20 28 0 104 11.5 15.36 0.29
Actually one of his better seasons as far as point production is concerned, but he’ll fall under 40 points next season.
Cooke, Matt LW PIT 76 13 18 31 0 101 1 86 15.1 14.21 0.48
Expect the same kind of numbers next year.
Corvo, Joe D CAR 81 14 24 38 -1 18 22 213 6.6 24.32 4.52
A disappointment since we expected 50 points. I think he bounces back to at least 45.
Cote, Riley LW PHI 63 0 3 3 -7 174 0 24 0 4.16 0.03
Could be headed somewhere else with Carcillo and Asham better players who can fulfill the enforcer role. But wherever he plays he’ll pile on the fights and the penalty minutes.
Crombeen, B.J. RW STL 81 12 10 22 -9 148 2 124 9.7 12.58 0.20
Hasn’t lived up to the power forward label if you consider that some offense is required to earn that label.
Crosby, Sidney C PIT 77 33 70 103 3 76 40 238 13.9 21.94 5.37
I still think he has a 150-point season in him.
Cullen, Matt C CAR 69 22 21 43 11 20 7 139 15.8 16.80 2.06
Basically what you’d expect from Cullen.
