Eric Maltais, who pens Croaks, from the Fantasy Frog, gives you his take on most of the players from a fantasy standpoint. Some may differ from what you find in the DobberHockey Fantasy Guide, but it’s good to have several viewpoints.

Gaborik, Marian RW MIN X 17 13 10 23 3 2 7 68 19.1 19.99 3.14
When do you gamble on him in your fantasy draft? I’d say fourth round.
Gagne, Simon LW PHI 79 34 40 74 21 42 25 221 15.4 19.02 3.26
Proving he can stay healthy, but it’ll be a big gamble to expect him to do it two seasons in a row.
Gagner, Sam C EDM 76 16 25 41 -1 51 11 156 10.3 16.76 3.06
Scored 21 points in the final 20 games. I can’t explain his previous struggles, but he will top 70 points next season.
Gaustad, Paul C BUF 62 12 17 29 4 108 8 122 9.8 16.11 1.98
Yeah he was injured, but he didn’t progress as expected.
Gerbe, Nathan C BUF 10 0 1 1 3 4 1 24 0 13.61 2.00
Will get a better shot next season.
Gervais, Bruno D NYI 69 3 16 19 -15 33 3 82 3.7 21.60 1.20
Has 30-point upside.
Getzlaf, Ryan C ANA 81 25 66 91 5 121 37 227 11 20.13 3.98
Has improved each of the past 4 seasons, should reach his peak next year, which would bring him close to the 100-point mark. His penalty minutes make him that much more valuable.
Gilbert, Tom D EDM 82 5 40 45 6 26 16 107 4.7 21.99 2.93
He did it very quietly, but Gilbert can now be counted on for 40 points a season and it would be even more if Souray and Visnovsky weren’t around.
Gionta, Brian RW NJ X 81 20 40 60 12 32 11 248 8.1 16.97 2.42
His power play goals the last four years: 24, 11, 8, 3. He ain’t getting better.
Giordano, Mark D CGY 58 2 17 19 2 59 6 82 2.4 16.21 2.81
Shows nice potential, should surpass the 30-point mark next season.
Girardi, Daniel D NYR 82 4 18 22 -14 53 7 122 3.3 21.53 2.30
Showed a lot of promise last year, then started the season on fire with 14 points in the first 19 games, but a 36-game pointless streak showed why we shouldn’t count on Girardi.
Giroux, Claude RW PHI 42 9 18 27 10 14 6 67 13.4 15.16 1.45
This guy is going to be a star and I won’t be surprised if he makes a run at 30 goals next year.
Gleason, Tim D CAR 70 0 12 12 3 68 1 61 0 20.65 0.37
At best he’ll get you 20 points.
Glencross, Curtis LW CGY 74 13 27 40 14 42 5 152 8.6 14.66 0.73
Glencross had two 19-game hot streaks, one during which he scored 18 points, the other 16. He’s finally found a team where he fits after four teams in three years. Just don’t expect him to do much better.
Godard, Eric RW PIT 71 2 2 4 -3 171 0 20 10 4.07 0.01
Two straight years with 171 penalty minutes.
Goligoski, Alex D PIT 45 6 14 20 5 16 8 61 9.8 18.31 4.00
He’s not strong enough on defense to see huge minutes, but he’ll see plenty of power play time even with Gonchar and Letang around and with a full season should challenge the 40-point mark.
Gomez, Scott C NYR 77 16 42 58 -2 60 17 271 5.9 21.06 3.91
Once again scored very few goals despite career high shots on goal. Lowest point total in five seasons. Expect a little better next year, say 60 to 65 points.
Gonchar, Sergei D PIT 25 6 13 19 6 26 13 71 8.5 25.19 6.25
Still a 60-point defenseman.
Gordon, Boyd RW WAS 63 5 9 14 -4 16 0 69 7.2 13.46 0.07
Will never develop into anything more.
Gorges, Josh D MON 81 4 19 23 12 37 5 63 6.3 20.13 1.17
Should be a 20 to 30 point blueliner for the near future.
Grabovski, Mikhail LW TOR 78 20 28 48 -8 92 15 120 16.7 16.22 2.22
Can be electrifying. He should break 60 points next season.
Grebeshkov, Denis D EDM 72 7 32 39 12 38 13 62 11.3 21.18 2.76
It took him awhile to develop, but the potential was always there. Benefitted from Visnovsky’s absence with a lot more ice time so it remains to be seen how he’ll be used if the team keeps it’s 4 outstanding offensive blueliners next season.
Green, Mike D WAS 68 31 42 73 24 68 38 243 12.8 25.77 5.38
Over a point-per-game, he’s amazing and still improving. I’d make him the 4th overall pick next season were it not for his health issues.
Greene, Matt D LA 82 2 12 14 1 111 1 76 2.6 19.74 0.15
Will never be asked to score, but can add value in deep leagues for his penalty minutes.
Grier, Mike RW SJ X 62 10 13 23 8 25 0 108 9.3 15.01 0.27
The Sharks have enough scorers, they just need Grier to keep the opponent from scoring.
Guerin, Bill RW PIT X 78 21 27 48 -12 81 18 226 9.3 16.66 3.91
I don’t doubt for a moment that he can duplicate those numbers next year.
