Justin Goldman tells me that Patrick Roy is in a meeting at the Pepsi Center with Avs brass. GM?

Kevin Bieksa went into the boards awkwardly during OT last night. He favored his left leg limping to the dressing room and speculation is that he is done for the series.

This could be the start of Giguere getting back into the lineup – but it would take another game like this. Jonas Hiller got the hook last night after giving up five goals, and Giggy came in and stopped all six shots he faced. Hiller will probably start next contest, but if he has a poor outing Giggy could finally get to start.

With the Grand Rapids Griffins being eliminated from the AHL playoffs, Ville Leino – the top AHL playoff scorer so far – has been recalled. Ditto for Jimmy Howard, Jakub Kindl, Aaron Downey and Justin Abdelkader.

We're entering one of several little zones where fantasy hockey relevent info is hard to come by and Friday's and Saturday's are the slowest days of the week. The news that does arise, usually crops up in the early afternoon, so those of you new to visiting DobberHockey should check back in the afternoon throughout the summer. I'll still be here. The "old-timers" already know this from last summer!

The lull in the hockey world is precisely the reason that I chose June 1 to release the Prospects Report every year. It's something that the Fantasy hockey community can get excited about and look forward to.

The NHL is already starting its posturing in the Betts vs. Balls case. Bill Daly is playing on the loyalty of the governors and how they won't appreciate the NHL rules being circumvented. Meanwhile, Balsillie has nearly 100,000 signees at makeitseven.ca.

I noticed on a Nashville message board that some of those fans are gloating that the Preds were successful this past year getting enough fans to qualify for subsidy. Kind of an "I told you so" type of statement. If only they experienced life in Canada. See, in most American cities they need to advertise their tickets and package them up in a promotion: 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 drinks, free parking and 4 t-shirts for $79.99. In the Toronto area, all a hockey team has to do is exist. The tickets will sell out with zero ads, zero giveaways and zero promotions. Corporate boxes are sold out – and they come to you. You really have to see to believe it, but I speak the truth.

This is what I meant about Malkin "turning it on". The color guy's word "inevitable" is about right:
