Wild afternoon cuts include Morten Madsen, Jon DiSalvatore and Barry Brust.
Patrik Elias underwent surgery to clean up some scar tissue in his groin. He will be out for 3-6 weeks, according to this. Look for Bergfors to make the team now, and see some quality ice time early that he better take advantage of. He’ll need to if he wants to establish himself.
Patrick O’Sullivan, as expected, is getting first shot on the line with Horcoff and Hemsky. Several sources have agreed on one key thing – the line is really clicking. O’Sully scored a pair of goals and was a plus-3 in preseason action against Calgary yesterday and is one of the better sleeper picks this season.
DobberHockey’s Frozen Pool has all set up for you the full data from exhibition games. That’s right – guess who played with Crosby in yesterday’s exhibition action? Chris Kuntiz and Eric Tangradi 52% of the shifts. Tangradi had two assists and now you know why – thanks to Jason Arbuthnot’s FROZEN POOL. Once again – you can access this section either via the “fantasy tools” section at the top (within the banner) or via “fantasy tools” on the left menu. Start playing with these tools and you won’t be able to stop. We will be charging for this tool in October – just a small, nominal fee to weed out the freeloaders and give the edge to those poolies who put in the extra effort. Because that’s all $5.99 is – a bit of effort. The money itself is chump change. We’re looking at $5.99 with the purchase of the guide, or $17.99 on its own.
Using this tool again, I see that Nikita Filatov played with Brassard and Dorsett 62% of his shifts.
Also Vermette with Umberger and Voracek again (this line will remain to start the season I’m sure).
Small notes I picked up thanks to Spector – Brett Hedican has retired and the Canucks will be waiving Brad Lukowich. Also – the Rangers may be considering just moving Dubinsky now.
Montreal prospect Alexander Avtsin chose to play in the KHL this year rather than report to Quebec of the QMJHL. One of the signs that I indicated in my KHL article in the Fantasy Guide – he is a risk.
