Jonathan Toews has 35 points in 34 games since returning from a concussion.

Jussi Jokinen has 11 points in his last 10 games.

Under the radar is Jay McClement who has seven points in his last five games. Davis Payne has been stubbornly keeping him on a line with the red-hot Steen so he is worth a depth pickup if you’re hurting at center.

Not as impressive as what his trade counterpart Latendresse is doing, but Benoit Pouliot has five points in his last six games. The party may be over for him though, as he saw fewer than 12 minutes last game for the first time in a month.

Stephen Weiss has 33 points in his last 30 games.

Here is something I bet you didn’t know – Marcel Goc has 15 points in his last 22 games. Not too shabby for a player who is expected to get that in an entire season. His career high is 22.

Patrik Elias update: Lou will not put a “concussion” label on it, nor “has that word been used by a doctor”, according to the NY Post. In other news, New Jersey team doctors are reportedly docked $500 each time they say the word “concussion”.

Jarome Iginla has just one point in seven contests. Now is certainly not the time to trade this guy, no way.

Rick DiPietro made his second start of the season Saturday and it was an impressive one, winning in a shootout and allowing two goals on 33 shots. The Isle’s golden boy will see more and more action as time goes by and in three weeks I can see the team attempting to ride him right down the stretch, even though Roloson has been spectacular. That being said, the Dobber over/under on DiPietro’s games played before getting hurt is: 11.5.

As for Martin Biron, despite his rather weak performance, his cheap salary and one-year contract is still quite valuable to contending teams. So if there are any teams out there with their No.1 and No.2 goaltenders hurt, and that had their No.3 goaltender pulled after giving up five goals in two periods, and had a junior goalie sign a one-game contract and step in and play – well that might be a team with a need for a Biron. (in case you didn’t catch my hints – I was hinting Pittsburgh).

Jason Arnott will return tonight against the Leafs. But Dumont missed practice with an illness so is questionable.

Despite the shutout last game, Dan Ellis will probably not get the start – the Tennessean is saying Rinne will.

Saku Koivu will be out for two weeks with a sprained knee. Line combos yesterday without him: Getzlaf with Perry and Beleskey; Nokelainen with Sexton and Ryan; Carter with Artyukhin and Brown; Marchant with Bodie and Chipchura.

Jason Spezza skated with the Sens yesterday and told the media that he would like to return to the lineup sometime this week. When that happens, the nice production that Chris Kelly has enjoyed (eight points in the last 10 games) will stop, and of course Ryan Shannon’s big chance is over. After posting seven points in five games, Shannon has ZERO in his last seven and will now say goodbye to the decent ice time – and probably a roster spot. Meanwhile, Mike Fisher has found his offense again with the return of Daniel Alfredsson – Spezza’s return will only help matters. Look for an extended run from Fisher.

Hejduk will undergo arthroscopic surgery that will sideline him for 2-4 weeks. This will help Brandon Yip’s chances of maintaining fantasy value. Yip has eight points in his last 10 games, but none in his last two.

Ryan Callahan ended his five-game pointless drought with a four-point night. That’s his second four-point night in a month and even with that cold streak he still has 17 points in his last 19 contests.

New Rangers lines seemed to have worked last night: Dubinsky with Gabby and Prospal; Christensen with Callahan and Drury; Anisimov with Higgins and Lisin; Boyle with Avery and Voros.

After going on a little run of seven points in six games, Christensen has zero in his last four. As with all bubble players, you can see his opportunity slip away in his ice time: 20 minutes, 15.5, 16, 11 – in that order. That’s usually followed by nine minutes and then healthy scratch and the only way to stop it is with a goal (or maybe…maybe an assist).

Mike Knuble has six goals in his last six games. He hasn’t had an assist in 11 games, but at least he’s scoring.

Patrice Bergeron could be back as early as tonight from his broken thumb. He’s day-to-day if he can’t go tonight.

Michael Russo is reporting that Guillaume Latendresse is sick and missed practice. His roommate Eric Belanger was taken out of his room right away. So the Wild had new line combos: Ebbett with Brunette and Miettinen; Koivu with Nolan and Petr Sykora – who may get back into the lineup tomorrow.
