Hilarious look at Gary Bettman’s inbox. Down Goes Brown is one of the funnier guys to follow on Twitter. Incidentally, you can follow me on Twitter – @DobberHockey

With three last night, Sid the Kid is now tied for the NHL lead in goals with Patrick Marleau with 37.

John-Michael Liles was a healthy scratch for the Avs again Sunday. After a five game points streak he made the mistake of going two games without a point and going minus-1. He’s gotta be traded soon, I would suspect.

Colin Wilson was the AHL rookie of the month for January. He had 20 points in 17 games. I think there is a strong chance that he will be a 70 or 75-point player in the NHL.

The Dispatch is reporting that Raffi Torres will be on the move. The roster freeze for the Olympics starts on February 12, so there may be a small run of deals leading up to that.

The Ducks have waived Nick Boynton. He has been passed by Brookbank, Eminger and Festerling on the depth chart.

Pascal Leclaire will back up Brian Elliott next game. Mike Brodeur has been returned to the AHL – bad luck for him as he was just starting to prove himself. Leclaire’s next injury, his right knee, isn’t scheduled to occur until early March, so you have a bit of time.

The splash that Flames fans (and fantasy owners of Flames players) were hoping for was pretty anti-climatic, as the team was held off the scoresheet. Here are the line combos, although given the trade these will change of course: Stajan with Boyd and Iginla; Langkow with Glencross and Bourque; Jokinen with Hagman and Lundmark. It’s nice to see Boyd get rewarded for a strong game Saturday. This looks like three lines that can score, but that certainly didn’t happen.

There were only two power plays for the Flames last night, but the PP units looked like this: Stajan, Hagman, Iginla, JBo, Giordano on the top PP; Bourque, Jokinen, Glencross, Langkow and White on the second PP. White was also part of the third unit and in the end saw a tad more PP time than any other rearguard on the team.

J-S Giguere will get the start for the Leafs tonight. Also expect Phaneuf in the lineup.

The unofficial word on Cammalleri is 6-8 weeks. I figure this will give Sergei Kostitsyn an excellent opportunity to step up. His brother Andrei took advanatage of injuries in the lineup to get back on track. Let’s see if the theory holds for Kostitsyn the younger.

One of the threads in the forum was on how the Canucks have impacted NHL personnel this year. After beating the Flyers, they fired John Stevens. After beating the Blues, they fired Andy Murray. After beating the Leafs, they traded one-third of their team away. Tonight they play Montreal – Habs fans are hoping for another shake-up.

Ray Emery has a firm grip on his job back now, starting eight straight and winning five of them to go with two shutouts. He has allowed just 12 goals in his last seven starts.

Paul Martin’s broken arm is the slowest healing broken arm in history. He will be in a cast for another two weeks and he has withdrawn from the Olympics. It’s been over three months now. Andy Greene has just one point in his last 16 games, but overall has 22 in 45 in Martin’s absence.

The Oilers snapped their 13-game winless streak in what was a battle of the juggernauts against Carolina. More importantly for us, Patrick O’Sullivan and Mike Comrie were in the lineup at the same time for the first time since November 16 and the result was three points between them. They had great chemistry early in the season and in the preseason. O’Sully now has a three game point streak and he has 14 points in his last 15 games.

Dave Bolland hopes to make his return to the CHI lineup tomorrow night.

Niklas Kronwall tweaked his knee Sunday and left the game early, but says it is okay and we should see him next game.

Anaheim now has two very solid lines to be proud of, with Selanne back and Blake on board: Getzlaf, Ryan and Perry; Koivu, Selanne and Blake. Those lines scored all the goals (three). The PP units were similar, except swap Selanne and Ryan.

DobberHockey Night in Toronto! Only 11 tickets are left! I’ll have more info on this later in the week, but here is the lowdown: $35 puts you in a luxury suite at the Marlies game on March 21 (Sunday). I will be in that suite with you, as well as several of the writers here at DobberHockey (I need official confirmation, but the early word is that Brent Lemon, Russ Miller and Steve “Notch” Johnson will be there). The game will be on CBC. Food is included. Bottom line – you talk fantasy hockey with the experts over beer and wings. Who doesn’t like that? Again – only 16 tickets were available. But already five have sold and it’s only been up for a few hours! First come first serve!

I will also be selling tickets to regular seats at the game for charity. Details on that still need to ironed out, but the goal is to put 50 kids into seats at that game.

The DobberHockey Olympics Pool is FREE to join and it’s simple – you just pick one player from each box. Sound complicated? Call my one-year-old daughter and she’ll walk you through it. And you could win prizes. Already 1350+ have signed up. Prizes include an autographed Steve Yzerman jersey courtesy of the Sports Lettering Company, an autographed Jaromir Jagr jersey and an autographed Eric Staal picture for the funniest team name. Not bad for something that is FREE. But you don’t want to join and lose to me anyway, I’m sure.
