Canes Now is reporting that Oscar Osala has been recalled and he will play on a line with Rod Brind’Amour and Sergei Samsonov. It will be called the “Dobber was stuck with all of these guys last year” line.

Prospects list will not be updated today. Hopefully by tomorrow.

Patrick O’Sullivan took a slash in the hand last night and left the game early. If you own him, you’re probably cheering right now, as his plus/minus is doing more damage to you than his points are doing good.

I have seen quite a bit of the last three Toronto games and I must say that Nikolai Kulemin is a new man. Angus’ column is very timely, because suddenly he seems to have found that other gear. He’s a pitbull on the puck when it’s anywhere near the net and he’s shown poise under pressure, scoring when the only way to do so is to remain calm. Maybe he’ll be a fantasy player after all…

Luca Caputi lined up with Stalberg and Grabovski and the line was very effective, combining on a goal.

I’m starting to really love the Avalanche. Everyone loves a good underdog, so they have that going for them. But I really enjoy watching a young, promising team start to put it all together. I don’t remember the last time I flipped through the games and left it on the Avs so frequently. (that said – they kinda blew it last night)

Finally, the Flames are starting to score – and they did it in a key game. It could very well come down to Detroit or Calgary for the final playoff spot, and the Flames came out on top. The Iginla/Bourque/Stajan line was brilliant. They are really coming together, which bodes well for their owners. In one of my leagues, I own Bourque and Stajan, so I for one am quite happy with this turn of events.

The dream may finally be over for owners of Alex Burrows. Mikael Samuelsson was moved to the Sedin line last night and it resulted in a hat trick, with the twins pretty much in on all of the goals. Burrows is back to being a 50-point guy again, as long as this lasts.

Probably related – Mason Raymond was knocked down to the fourth line and played eight minutes, after an early blunder.

Another game, another two points for Mueller. The other subject of my Sunday article, Teddy Purcell, was pointless though. Purcell did play 17 minutes, which is promising.

The Caps signed prospect Dmitry Kugryshev to a three-year ELC. The right winger is seventh in scoring, and due to his position (RW) on a team with star left wingers, he is a top prospect to own in keeper leagues. He is still a good three years away though.

The Wild recalled Petr Kalus and he played his first NHL game and who knows how long. The disappointing prospect showed huge promise in Boston and then went to Minnesota and crapped the bed. It was thought that when he went back to Europe it would be for good, but he’s been back this year and playing for Houston. But with 11 goals in 53 AHL games, it’s hard to get excited about him again. He played just six minutes last night taking the place of Cal Clutterbuck, who is out with a charley horse. Kalus’ value may lie in penalty minutes, at this point, as he is impressing in that statistic at other levels.

Maksim Mayorov was recalled by the Jackets and played 7:44. He has just 11 goals for Syracuse and has not taken a step forward at all. If I owned Mayorov, I would be looking for a 30-goal, 65-point AHL season this year…and that has far from happened. He’ll be lucky to get half that.
