So Tyler Ennis was called up for one game and he scored. He was called up again yesterday and notched two assists. Two career NHL games, three career NHL points. Not bad…

With three last night, Erik Karlsson now has five points in four games and is a plus-3. I really do expect 45 points out of him next campaign. He’s found his way in the NHL.

I like Jimmy Howard and I love the Calder consideration that he is getting. But he can’t win it. The Wings have no choice but to start him, so he gets all the opportunities in the world – and once they became fully healthy they started winning like gangbusters. He’s just the logical beneficiary of a healthy lineup. When they weren’t healthy, they weren’t winning. Howard is 12-2-3 in the last 17 games and has allowed 35 goals in that span. And wait a minute – Johan Franzen, the final piece of the puzzle, came back when was it? Oh, 17 games ago.

Eric Fehr has 21 goals and is a plus-21. This is on 12:07 of ice time per game. Show me a player with anywhere near that goal total who has played less than 14 minutes. He has arrived, but unless the Caps trade Alexander Semin or he suffers a season ending injury next year, I’m afraid it will be more of the same. His coming out party will have to wait until there is room in the top six.

Henrik Sedin has proven me wrong. He is the first NHLer to reach 100 points. I noted in the midseason guide that he would stop at 99 and that the twins are not 100-point players. Apparently, they are. All it took was a combination of them hitting their prime and improved secondary scoring to take the heat off and Voila! 100 points. Congrats Henrik.

Daniel Sedin missed 18 games and yet still has a decent chance at setting a career high. His current high is 84 points and he needs 10 more to beat that (in seven games).

The Leafs have removed Viktor Stalberg from the Grabovski line and replaced him with John Mitchell. I like Mitchell, but I really do think he’s a better fit for the third line. That was the wrong move. Don’t expect a lot from Stalberg while this goes on.

Peter Mueller was unable to play against his former team last night as he has a hip injury. He is day to day. Kevin Porter, however, scored a shorthanded goal.

But it was Wojtek Wolski who stole the show with a three-point night against his former club. It gives him nine points in seven games.

With a shutout loss last night – yes, shutout LOSS – Pekka Rinne has four shutouts in nine games.

It looks like it will take about 99 points to get into the playoffs in the West. Can you imagine? Calgary’s 93 points or so that they’ll end up with won’t even be close. In the East, 90 points should do it.

If Philly and Atlanta keep up their current 10-game trend, Atlanta will get in, beating Philly by a good four points.
