2010-04-20

Ladies and gentlemen – I now make to you available for sale (although the guides themselves are not ready yet), in the shop – the 2010 Fantasy Prospects Report, the 2010 Keeper League Fantasy Pack and the “C” version of the 2010 Ultimate Fantasy Pack. That’s in the shop, right now

I stuck a parody of the “history will be made” commercials at the bottom – spoofing the Daniel Sedin “no goal” call. I also stuck footage of the brutal “no goal” call itself.

Shane Doan will not be in the lineup for Phoenix tonight.

Daniel Alfredsson is questionable for tonight’s action for the Sens.

Amazing how Andrei Kostitsyn follows up a hat trick by going pointless and minus-4. His linemates, Plekanec and Cammalleri, were also minus-4.

Jaroslav Halak got the hook after giving up three goals on 13 shots (or three in six shots to start the second period). Carey Price stopped 21 of 23. I have little doubt that we’ll see Halak start Game 4.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Marc Savard has been symptom free for over a week and he skated for the first time Monday. If this series goes seven, I think we’ll see him – and I’m pretty certain we’ll see him in the second round if the Bruins make it.

So the NHL has named Brodeur, Bryzgalov and Miller as the Vezina finalists. I have a real problem with Brodeur there – I think the media voted for him out of habit. Because he was a shadow of his former self this past year. Still a Top 10 goalie, but not a Top 3. The Devils’ system takes care of the rest. Nope, put me down for Craig Anderson (and not just because of Sunday night, since that can’t count for voting purposes).

It’s looking pretty doubtful for Patric Hornqvist getting into Game 3. We’ll know more today, but for now I would expect “no”.

Drew Doughty had four points last night, but was still a minus-1 despite the 5-3 win. Three of his points were on the power play. Handzus and JJ were also minus-1 and had three points each.

Roberto Luongo got the hook in the second period after giving up four goals on 16 shots. Rayzer stopped six of seven in relief.

Marco Sturm has three points in his last 19 games. He’ll benefit the most from a Savard return.

Come on Nashville – still 2000 tickets available? (According to the Tennessean) You’re better than that – it’s Game 3 tonight, the Preds first home game of the season, round up your buddies and watch some great hockey.

Buffalo line combos with Drew Stafford in and Thomas Vanek out: Roy with Pominville and Kennedy; Connolly with Ennis and Stafford; Gaustad with Grier and Torres.

Glen Metropolit was indeed back in the lineup, but saw just 5:37 of ice time.

Dany Heatley is expected back in the lineup tonight.

Peter Mueller did not skate yesterday, which IMO rules him out for Game 5 as well as tonight’s Game 4. Kevin Porter will play, while Milan Hejduk and Ryan Stoa will be game-time decisions, according to deverpost.com

Didn’t see this coming – the Senators have recalled Jonathan Cheechoo and it sounds as though he will be in the lineup. If so, I would expect it to be at the expense of Ryan Shannon.

After going pointless in two AHL playoff games, Vancouver prospect Jordan Schroeder had a four-point game in Game 3. Sergei Shirokov is still looking for his first playoff point.

Johnny Boychuk on Matt Ellis last night. Wow!

No…goal?

Parody…
