June 1 – Fantasy Hockey Prospects Report out today

The 2010 Fantasy Prospects Report is now posted. Enjoy!

Le Guide des Espoirs 2010 de Dobber est maintenant disponible.

Goldie here – Jason Missiaen was not offered a deal by the Habs, nor was he on the ice this morning for development camp. Similar to Delmas, he’ll re-enter the draft!

Puck Daddy’s humorous piece on NHL -related ice cream flavors. I contributed a couple, plus a couple more that didn’t make the cut, because…well … they’re technically not flavors:

Cliff Fletcher’s Finger-cone – Just claim you’ll buy ice cream from someone else, and receive a free triple-scoop each time you’re in the press box.
The Alex Semin Bongo cone – Look real girly with this strawberry ice cream on a pink cone with extra sprinkles

FAN590 is reporting that Nicklas Lidstrom has signed a one-year extension worth just under $6 million. Lidstrom could easily play another five years if he wanted to, and have fantasy value for three of them.

Brian Burke told the FAN that July 1 will be his draft and that they “plan to be very active again”.

I don’t know about all this talk about the Flyers being done. I didn’t mention it here, but Saturday with my buddies, before Game 1, I told them that I felt the Blackhawks would win Games 1, 2 and 4. And the Flyers would win the rest. Nothing has changed that opinion of mine. These same people wrote off the Flyers in the second round as well, I’m sure.

Kamil Kreps has signed to play in the SM Liga next campaign.

Interesting link dug up by Van Horne on prospect Brandon Pirri. He’s bigger and stronger, which was initially a concern. He’s now addressed it. Pirri is profiled in the Fantasy Prospects Report.

Antti Niemi was almost perfect last night. And other than 28 seconds of being flustered, Leighton wasn’t that bad either, though the Flyers protected him a hell of a lot more than they did in Game 1. I liked what Daniel Carcillo brought to the table too.

Though the Carter and Richards line finally got on the board, they were each a minus-1 – and are minus-4 (each) in the first two games now.

The Blues have signed Jori Lehtera, who won the Finnish league scoring title this past season. He’ll get a long look in camp and projects as a second-line pivot. He is profiled in the Fantasy Prospects Report.

Other signings – Atlanta signed Karl Klingberg and Buffalo signed Jacob Lagace – each of whom are profiled.

Among the prospects not signed – Eric O’Dell (Atlanta) and Bill Sweatt (Chicago). Unless I’m mistaken, they will go into the free agency pool/re-draft if anyone wants them.

The Prospects Report will be released this afternoon, likely around 2pm.

Pronger didn’t take too kindly to Eager interrupting him.
