The Ducks have signed Ray Emery to a two-way contract. He will eventually back up Jonas Hiller and makes for nice playoff insurance. Let’s see how his hip responds to a game or two at the NHL level. I do not recommend picking him up.

PK Subban has 10 points in his last 11 games. His scoring pace is up to 35 points now, which is up about 10 from prior to this streak. With 28 games left I think he gets another 17 points and finishes with 40.

Ilya Kovalchuk has 13 points in his last 12 games and he has chipped away at his plus/minus. He got it as low as minus-30, causing me to start a “Kovalchuk Watch”, with the goal of seeing him get to minus-50. Ah well. He’s up to minus-24 now and will probably get it close to minus-10 by the time the season ends. With 29 games left, getting 31 points and finishing with 65 is quite reasonable.

Travis Zajac has 10 points and is plus-9 in his last 11 contests.

Put Max Pacioretty down for seven points in seven games. He saw over 20 minutes of action Sunday.

Another four point game for Stamkos, giving him the NHL scoring lead. He’s on pace for 108 points. Happy Birthday Steven! He turns 21 today.

When Evgeni Malkin was 21, he had 106 points. For what it’s worth.

Alex Steen has 27 points in his last 26 games and has been held off the scoresheet just five times in that span. He had 13 in 25 before the run.

Kris Letang has just one point in his last nine games. Think he misses the superstars?

Peter Forsberg has signed to play the remainder of the season with the Avalanche for what is prorated to be a million bucks. Again I caution you: do what you can to acquire him, but promptly trade him. If you hold onto him it will hurt you because: a) you are in a weekly league and there will be weeks where you dress him over somebody else and he doesn’t play at all; b) you are in a daily league and you dress him and last minute he takes himself out of the game; c) you don’t dress him because you hear that he will sit out for the game/few games and suddenly he decides to play. This is exactly what happened during his last comeback. You will hurt yourself more than you will help. Trade him. You can’t play the bench him/start him game as well as you think. Not with this guy.

Jacques Lemaire said that Mattias Tedenby could become another Brian Gionta. I actually had higher hopes. Nothing against Gionta, but Tedenby’s downside should be Gionta – his upside should be a little more. I consider Gionta a 60-point guy who had 89 once.

Remarkable that Gionta had 89 points and then has never had more than 60 since then.

Pavel Datsyuk is expected back tonight. Tomas Holmstrom is shooting for one of the two games after that.

Corey Crawford gets the start tonight – Turco allowed four goals in each of his last two starts, although he was 1-1.

Marty Brodeur left Sunday’s contest with a knee injury. The severity is unknown, but he initially stayed in the game for the rest of the period.

Marc Savard will reportedly sit out for the rest of the season. “There’s no way any doctor is going to clear him”

Mike Green injury – I would suggest “concussion” and “at least two weeks”, but the Caps are saying “day-to-day” and “a lot of stitches” and “a little bit of a headache”:
