This will get lost in the shuffle today, but don’t forget it! Detroit has given Jan Mursak a two-year extension. Why is this so important? Because the deal is one-way. He will make about $600,000 regardless of what league (AHL/NHL) he is in.

Angus here – I’ll have a breakdown on a Kaberle deal as soon as it goes down. Glad I have Friday’s off from work!

Jordan Eberle has four goals in his last six games. Finally getting healthy after missing all of January with an injury.

Due to injuries on the blueline, Yannick Weber and PK Subban both logged close to 30 minutes of ice time.

Dobber: Damian Cox is reporting that a deal involving Kaberle is almost official. It sound as though the Leafs will get Joe Colborne (or Ryan Spooner) and Boston’s first rounder this summer. Colborne is a potential star. Angus will break this down further, if and when it comes to pass.

Brian Elliott is off to Colorado for Craig Anderson – Anderson is a UFA at the end of this season and I can’t believe the Avs got something for him from a non-playoff team. Seems weird. Do the Sens think they can re-sign him or something? And that his knees will be fine for next year? I’ll try and get Goldman to break this one down for us.

Ales Hemsky has three multi-point games in his last four. His trade value is climbing… but it would be foolish for Edmonton to move him.

John Tavares has 12 points in nine games. If you own him, look for a big 2011-12 season. I could see him hitting 45 next year. Mark Streit will be a massive, massive boost to the Isles both at even strength and on the PP when he returns.

After being a healthy scratch for a few games, Tyler Seguin has three points in three games. He isn't playing a ton (averaging 13 minutes over those three games), but he is seeing enough ice to produce.

Nathan Lawson allowed five goals on 18 shots and was replaced by Al Montoya. Look for Montoya to get a few starts as the Isles goalie carousel continues. My advice? Don't own an Islander goalie!

Rookie defenseman Steve Kampfer has one point in his last 10.

Dustin Brown wanted to prove a point last night – in yesterday's ramblings I made mention as to why I feel he is not suited for a top line role, and he goes out and scores a pair of goals.

Ryan Callahan had a goal and an assist. I made this comment on Twitter a few days ago – give me 12 Ryan Callahan's and I'll show you a fantastic hockey team. He is an incredibly well-rounded player. His upside is higher than many think, too.

Jonathan Bernier was very good last night – three goals allowed on 37 shots.

Another contender for leading scorer in the final 20 games – Pavel Datsyuk. He has 10 points in his last nine, and five in his last three.

Unsurprisingly, the Canucks struggled with five of their top six defensemen on the shelf.

Pekka Rinne was good when he had to be, and Mike Fisher scored his first goal as a Predator. Nashville's lines are tough to figure out – like St. Louis, they lack top end talent but boast a lot of depth.

Martin Erat has 10 points in his last nine games – a notoriously streaky player.

My latest 15 Points to Consider will be out late tonight or on the weekend (slight delay) – my thoughts on Byfuglien's new contract, the Versteeg trade, a potential Kaberle deal (yay) and more!
