Fantasy Guide and Draft List updated as of yesterday. I added a GP projection for the goalies in the draft list (will be in the next guide update). Also, the iPhone draft app is updated.

Happy Birthday to the Maaaaaaaaaasquito himself – Ryan Ma!

Another homerun for Down Goes Brown! LOL – here are his tips for your fantasy draft.

Thanks to reader Brandon for this piece on Zac Rinaldo – a potential PIM stud this year if he can stick for the duration. And our own Dean’s List writer Brendan Ross pens a new weekly OHL feature over at Hockey Writers if you want to check that out here.

Ken Holland singled out the following players for having good camps: Jiri Hudler, Jakob Kindl, Fabian Brunnstrom, Gustav Nyquist, Brendan Smith, Val Filppula and Jonathan Ericsson. Not mentioned – Tomas Tatar. Any Detroit readers have any feedback on him? He’s not getting the buzz that he had in prior camps. Hudler and Brunnstrom are really stressed in this piece.

The Guide update includes a handful of revised projections and all the updated cuts. Included was my flagging of Rundblad as a risk for this season. He is looking as though he will either do what Karlsson did in his first season (play half a year) or there is a risk that he returns to Sweden for the season, or so the rumor goes. He played a risky game here at the Oshawa tournament and didn't fix that in the main camp. Nothing to do with different ice surface, but perhaps nerves (culture shock) are playing a role. Because the problem is mental, not physical. The tools are there. He has slipped to ninth on my Calder list. As you know, Dalpe has surged to No.1.

Speaking of Calder lists, Matt Read is going up that chart in the next update. Last night's contest he was fantastic. Like Nashville's Craig Smith, he has really come out of nowhere in the last six months.

With James Wisniewski getting eight games, the odds that Savard makes the Blue Jackets increase dramatically. It's like giving him an eight-game audition to show he belongs – and I think he will.

So Devante Smith-Pelley, Andrew Gordon and Patrick Maroon stick (so far) with the Ducks, while favorites such as Dan Sexton, Nick Bonino, Kyle Palmieri and Peter Holland are cut. Put me firmly in the Gordon camp. And I was a fan of Maroon up until last season. But he's winning me over. As for DSP, I think he'll be another year or two yet.

Yammy Yagr tallied three points, really clicking with Claude Giroux. This is probably the first second time (Mario) in his career that a linemate was actually pulling HIS value up, instead of the other way around.

Washington media considers the battle for the last roster spot to be between Eakin, Perreault and Bourque. Funny that they combined on each other's points last night. Bourque tallied three assists, Perreault two points and Eakin a goal.

No surprise here – the Panthers have waived Steve Reinprecht. They also waived Michal Repik.
