Rangers Acquire Ryane Clowe

Fantasy Impact: The New York Rangers have landed Ryane Clowe from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for a second in 2013, a third in 2013 and a conditional 2nd in 2014 that could become a fifth rounder if some conditions aren’t met.
The Sharks get: well…three good draft picks.
The Rangers get: an underachieving power forward capable of putting up really good second-line points, but since his concussion from over a year ago, he hasn’t been the same player.
Fantasy Players Impacted: The move opens up some more ice time for TJ Galiardi and James Sheppard. As far as offense goes, Galiardi is your best bet here. Actually, if you get down to it, Brent Burns is probably your guy – a defenseman who is enjoying offensive success as a forward.
In New York, the acquisition pushes one of J.T. Miller or Chris Kreider off the roster. The two rookies combined for 11 minutes of ice time last game. I doubt you will see Mats Zuccarello lose his second-line spot. Not yet, anyway. So Clowe adds some third-line depth, upgrading that line (with Brian Boyle and Carl Hagelin).
