Your Round One injury updates…

 

Halfway through the first round and injuries are having big impacts on the games which means teams get really vague with injury information.


EASTERN CONFERENCE

 

Daniel Paille (upper body) is inching forward towards a return but not playing in Game 4. He is still not cleared to play.


Ryan Murray (undisclosed) left morning skate on Wednesday and didn't play in Game 4. Murray is expected to make a return before the end of the first round according to Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards.


Fedor Tyutin (undisclosed) is expected to make a return before the end of the first round according to Blue Jackets head coach Richards.


Daniel Alfredsson (back) will miss Game 4 but should be ready to go for Game 5 according to Detroit Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock.


Jonathan Ericsson (finger) has no timetable yet for a return as he is still having trouble grabbing a stick.


Alex Galchenyuk (knee) is not expected to be ready until the Eastern Conference finals if the Montreal Canadiens make it that far.


Travis Moen (concussion) was cleared for contact on Monday and took part in his first full practice in nearly a month.


Chris Kreider (hand) is improving and is out indefinitely is the only thing New York Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault will say regarding Kreider.


Steve Downie (upper body) is out indefinitely and Philadelphia Flyers GM Paul Holmgren announced no specific injury.


Steve Mason (upper body) is aiming to make a return on Friday for Game 4.

Brian Gibbons (undisclosed) on the ice for optional practice on Tuesday and Pittsburgh Penguins head coach Dan Bylsma says he is day-to-day.


Marcel Goc (ankle) is a possibility to play soon and Penguins head coach Bylsma says "I'd like to see him play in round one."

 

WESTERN CONFERENCE

 

Ryan Getzlaf (upper body) missed Game 4 with an upper body injury. He is hopeful for Game 5 and will know more on Friday.


Stephane Robidas (leg) has a fractured leg and is out indefinitely. He won't need surgery.


Matt Beleskey (lower body) is not probable for Friday but is a possibility for Sunday according to Anaheim Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau.


Tyson Barrie (knee) will miss 4-6 weeks with MCL injury.


John Mitchell (concussion) is nowhere close to returning to the lineup.


Matt Duchene (knee) won't likely play in the first round as he would nee a need of skating before he is cleared to play.


Patrik Nemeth (upper body) will be a game-time decision on Friday for Game 5.


Brenden Dillon (lower body) will be a game-time decision on Friday for Game 5.


Brenden Morrow (foot) has been ruled out until at least the second round.

 

David Backes (upper body) will be back in the next two or three games according to St. Louis Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock.
