Taking a look at some of the hottest line combinations of the past week.

Let’s go “Between the Lines”.

Lead us forwards…..

Clarke MacArthurKyle TurrisMark Stone (Ottawa)

This Stone kid seems to be the real deal. Talk about coming through in the clutch. This line combined for 16 points last week. The Senators have propelled themselves right into the thick of things in the Eastern Conference playoff race. With a win tonight the Senators will tie the Pittsburgh Penguins for the final wild card spot. This line should remain hot down the stretch as the Senators push for a birth in the post-season. Turris has shaken off his early season woes and in the process he has shown to all that he is in fact a true #1 centre man. MacArthur has scored six points in his last six games and it couldn’t have been at a better time. Watch out for Stone next season as this guy has a sick release and he plays the game hard.

Jamie BennTyler SeguinValeri Nichushkin (Dallas)

It really doesn’t matter who the third piece of this line is as long as Benn-Seguin are together. Benn has pushed his point total to 80 on the year leaving him one point behind Sid the kid. It’s been a really crappy season for the Stars as they will miss the post-season, however, the future looks bright with some changes. Benn and Seguin combined for 10 points in three games last week. Benn has been doing more of the scoring as of late potting four goals in his last three games. The sky is the limit for these two and whoever the Stars decide to add to this tandem will reap major benefits next fantasy season. If the Stars can find a reliable third piece for this top line (possibly Nichushkin), steady goaltending, and a rock in the back end… watch out next year.

Defend this…..

John CarlsonMike Green (Washington)

Although not technically a tandem, Carlson and Green have made it rain down the stretch. Last week these two fantasy studs combined for 10 points in only three games. Due to their solid play the Capitals have won four of their last five games and subsequently have clinched a playoff spot. I really love the Caps this year and most especially what coach Barry Trotz has done. Both of these defenseman are a combined plus-25 on the year yet they still continue to produce offensively. Thank you Barry!

Ryan McDonaghKeith Yandle (New York)

Yandle seems to be hitting his stride now after a rather slow start. This doesn’t bode well for other teams in the Eastern Conference as he could be a real game breaker come playoffs. So here is some advice for poolies, Yandle will be a force in the playoffs… BANK on it. This tandem combined for eight points last week in three games. I would imagine some of the Rangers will get rest in the coming days once they clinch the Presidents’ Trophy. If so, beware of this duo possibly getting a night off.

Michael Del ZottoMark Streit (Philadelphia)

What a pleasant surprise Del Zotto has been this season. I mean 32 points in 61 games isn’t too shabby. Not to mention he receives little to no PP time with the Flyers which seems to be the only way they get points nowadays. On the other hand we have Streit who makes his living on the power play with 29 PPP on the season.  This duo combined for six points in three games last week. I would keep an eye on Del Zotto in the off-season as he’s turned many heads with his play this season. Additionally, Streit will be the target of many poolies as his PP production is extremely valuable in many formats.
