Cory Emmerton has signed a three-year entry level deal with Detroit. He will report to Grand Rapids for the end of this season.

Matt Schneider expects to be back in the Detroit lineup tonight, but Henrik Zetterberg is doubtful. Zetterberg is also doubtful for the weekend. He will slip in your playoff draft…but is worth taking a chance on if you like Detroit.

General manager Paul Holmgren said he did not expect right-wing prospect Claude Giroux to play in the Flyers' final games. Giroux is with the Phantoms.

The line of Ryane Clowe, Steve Bernier, and Marcel Goc did everything for the Sharks last night. They scored both goals, Clowe got into a fight, and scored the shootout winner.

Joe Thornton has 23 points in his last 11 games.

Nik Lidstrom has gone six games without a point.

Evgeni Nabokov has gone 10-0-2 in his last 13 games, with three shutouts. It doesn't look good for the Flames as far as tonight's game is concerned.

Jaroslav Spacek is pointless in nine contests for the Sabres.

Despite scoring his 40th goal of the season, Ilya Kovalchuk was badly outplayed by Ovechkin last night and was subsequently benched for the third period.

It turns out that Martin Havlat tore the labrum in his shoulder and will undergo surgery that will put him on the shelf for two months. Needless to say, he is done for the season…not to mention the World Championship. I'm not going to comment on this one, you know how I feel about this guy.

Mikael Holmqvist is also out for the "season" with his shoulder injury.

Jere Lehtinen's lower body injury will keep him out of the lineup tonight for the Stars.

Scott Hartnell will return to the Preds lineup tonight. He had been out with a broken foot.

The coaches feel a little more cautious, but Ryan Whitney boldly predicts that he will be in the lineup tonight against the Sens in a big matchup that will determine the seedings between the two teams.

Patrick Eaves is in the same boat as Whitney – his groin is close to feeling better, and he should play.

Teemu Selanne was caught with an illegal stick in overtime last night. Interesting…

J-S Giguere missed last night's contest to witness the birth of his first child. Any excuse, eh?

Jeff Taffe, who has missed the past two-plus games because of a bruised left foot, practiced with teammates Wednesday and might play tonight.

Stephen Weiss will undergo offseason knee surgery. The surgery is a minor one, but it will cost him the World Championships.
